“Very good quality (heavy) wood with a classical traditional look. Very good quality assembly hardware. Best assembly instructions I've ever read (large pictures and easy to follow written instructions) - congratulations to whomever is responsible for that. Every piece of wood and hardware is labeled making it impossible to screw it up. It does take awhile to assemble (took me 6 hours by myself) but the pieces fit together perfectly. No missing pieces but a bag of "extra" hardware was included which is a great idea.”

“This is a solid, quality piece of furniture and a great value for the price. Assembly took some time just due to the size of the piece and the number of doors, etc., but everything fit together well. We're extremely happy with the finished product. It holds our flat screen TV and the shelves, cabinets and drawer provide ample space for electronics and other items. (The hinges on the drop-down door did break during assembly, but the team at Simpli-Home put replacements in the mail the day we contacted them, and they worked perfectly). We highly recommend this product and Simpli-Home!”

Overall good with some flaws

“I just received the Antique White color of this TV stand yesterday and assembled it last night. Overall, it's decent quality, but there were definitely a couple hiccups during assembly. The bottom piece was cracked and required gluing to make it less noticeable, and when adding the top piece, it would not fit on one of the dividers and we had to saw the piece down to make it fit (at least it was not visible after it was all said and done). And lastly, the photo makes the Antique White color look more off-white/distressed, but in person, it really has a more almond/yellow hue to it which is kind of disappointing. Overall not bad, but could be better with a couple small things.”

“It's gorgeous! Mostly it was easy to put together, but if you follow the instructions in order, the flip open drawer is almost impossible to screw in unless you have a very short screwdriver. The hinges should be placed way earlier in the process. Because of this, ours is still unfinished after two weeks (gotta find a shorter screwdriver and knocks it down a star.”

“Overall happy with the product. We did assembly ourselves and it was very time consuming. Several issues during assembly: (a) Manufacturer should provide a gauge or at least specify how much of the Cam Lock Pins (part 2) should be exposed after placing them in the designated holes. If the pins are inserted too far or not enough the Cam Locks will not engage and thus will not lock. (b) Very few of the pilot holes needed for assembly were more than a slight dimple. These pilot holes need to be deep enough to get the screws started in the correct position -- we had to use an awl to make them deep enough. (c) Additionally, the pilot holes on the bottom shelf that are needed to attach the dividers (CL, CR, DL, and DR) were on the side of the wood OPPOSITE that needed for one of the dividers. In this case we had to create all new pilot holes.”

It’s just “Okay"

“Quality control on this was marginal at best. The bottom ledger board was split apart and nailed very sloppy. It could not have happened during shipping because everything looked to be packed that way in the box. I had to glue and clamp the pieces back together overnight. The finish is was also sloppy which required me to touch up a bunch of the seams. Assembly instructions are also poorly written. There are so many parts and pieces and you have to get the middle boards in exactly the correct direction - which is very hard to see in the instructions. Overall, I have purchased much better products at this price point.”

“Nice looking media stand after proper assembly but with a few flaws. Assembly issues: Dowel holes too large-Loose fitting requires glue to correct for fit. Screw hole too small causing splitting in a few areas (Not visible once assembled and a little extra work to get together. Top of unit has many flaws due to poor prep before paint. This is not the character of real wood but the lack of planing/sanding to a level finish. This is arguably the most visible piece and should have been a priority in the quality of the finished product. Not really noticeable from a distance in my room but still disappointing. Probably would get 5 stars if the top board was finished correctly. No shipping damage/Packaged well. Included spare hardware and good instructions.”

“I agree with all the positive reviews. This is a solid piece of furniture. You also have the option of NOT putting some of the drawers on. I did not put the smaller drawers on so I can display decorations. Very happy with this purchase! The only difficulty assembling was when i was putting the backing on. Vey important to have all pieces laid out before securing. It is tight and fits like an OJ Simpson glove. It also lines up the half predrilled holes to the accompanying pieces with a half predrilled hole. I did need to use a drill on the backing to start the hole into the console as these were not predrilled. Other than that, the instructions and parts were easy to follow.”

“The TV stand is well made and was as described. We like it very much and are very happy with it . The only negative was that the wooden dowels were either to small or the pre drilled holes for them were to big. The directions said you may need a rubber mallet to install the dowels but they were to loose and were needed to aline the parts before screwing them together. However that being the only problem I would recommend this stand to anyone. Definitely well worth it. We are thinking of ordering the matching coffee table. Thank you SMPLI HOME! .”

“The box containing the "Warm Shaker / Norfolk / Lexington 72" TV Media stand" arrived yesterday. I was on my own to put it together. I'm nearly 60 but I've put together scores of things in the past & I have a mechanical mind - so what the heck! The finished product is fabulous. It looks like a expensive piece of furniture. Solid wood, no particle board. The hardware was complete and even a zip lock bag called "extras"! The holes always lined up beautifully with the hardware & a number of the parts arrived partially assembled. (Yay!) The directions were clear, the parts worked well and the piece came together beautifully. The only comparable TV/ media stand that was similar in style cost more than twice - so assembling it to save serious $$ was well worth the effort.”

“We got our TV Stand delivered today around noon started right away putting it together took my time after reading a lot of reviews and problems people had. I followed the instructions except I read a tip if installing the flip door to its shelf after building the draw. Glad I did i can see it would be difficult to do later on as in the instruction. Very happy with the product and only ran into one problem, I had 1 broken door hinge but was still able to use it until I get a replacement. the wood is very soft so take care when putting you tv and other components on it, I had no problems there with just was very careful.”

A Nice Looking TV Stand but a few minor issues

“We are quite happy with the TV Stand, good looks and just the size and layout we wanted. Online ordering and FedEx ground delivery was all good. It does have a few finish flaws. On each corner of the top the clear finish has a striated pattern, about 2 inches square, where it looks like the packing was pressed against it. Possibly was packaged while the finish was still slightly wet. This only shows when the light shines at a certain angle though, so we decided to keep it anyway. Probably a little Old English will help. Another slight issue. The package labeling is different from what is online. We ordered the Ashley color Brown, but the package says Rustic Brown which was a lighter shade of brown in the Ashley color choices. So we naturally thought it was the wrong color. Did a little checking and found that the model number which other retailers also sell, is actually the color we wanted, the darker brown, but Ashley just calls it by a different name and number. So all is good.”

“The item is perfect size and color. It had defects of scratches in several areas. After having to return another item that was a nightmare to send back decided to just keep item. Know that if there is an issue with an online order even tho it may be on Ashley's end they try to make you pay shipping charges to send back thus why I chose to keep other item. The items were sent separately and different delivery dates with items being ordered same time. Also I went into store to confirm colors on items and was misled. Be careful!”
