“Happy I bought this despite reading the reviews. I will say the instructions are absolutely awful, and assembly should be available even if it’s for an additional cost. I see why people messed up building it and said the drawers aren’t flush. You literally have to follow these very unclear directions even for which drawers go where. Regardless, it was all worth it in the end— nothing came damaged, and everything is flushed and secure. It’s the most perfect piece for what I need!”

“Beautiful piece of furniture at a good price. Assembly is time consuming. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because, as someone had mentioned, the drawers do not close flush. It may have something to do with the drawer glides. Drawer glides were all factory installed. Perhaps it is a manufacturer defect. That said, with some force, I was able to push the drawers in flush however they cannot be pulled out easily. Aesthetically everything looks good however the drawers are basically nonfunctional. This I can live with. Others may feel differently.”

“It's exactly as pictured and beautiful in my living room. The other reviews are correct it does take a while to assemble, but if you have that in mind going into it, its not so bad. I put together the main cabinet and then put the drawers together at a later time. The drawers and doors both slide really smooth on their tracks.
You will likely need two people or at least one strong person to get it in the house. It comes in two boxes, one is really long and a the other slightly larger square box.”

“The design is good and the wood quality is good. They packaged it really well for delivery. But the instructions are absolute junk. It didn’t say which way to put the draw walls in and if you didn’t know any better it looks the same both ways. Turns out I put them in backwards which meant the drawers wouldn’t go in and I had to take the WHOLE GODDAMN THING APART, flip the drawer walls, and put it back together. I also broke 6 of the crappy little hardware pieces that connect the pieces. So I guess I’ll just glue it. The plastic plugs are super crappy and don’t match. Also it was missing 1 bolt for the drawers. I was pretty close to pulling it out into the yard and lighting it on fire. Now that it’s together I like it and glad I didn’t destroy it with fire.”

“The product is really nice, overall. The only negative about the appearance of the console is the drawers are not flush and can’t unsee it. The assembly is advanced and very time consuming. When I opened the box, I almost just put it in the garage. Lol
I had no intent of taking half a Saturday to put the item together and it’s taking 3 people to assemble it. I would NOT have purchased the piece had I known it was so involved. If you enjoy putting a bunch of wooden puzzle pieces together with a great product in the end, then this is YOUR item!”

“This piece is definitely worth it. It is even more beautiful in person! I noticed that a few reviews mention the difficulty of building it but I am a young, inexperienced woman that was able to build it with ease. I will admit this is time consuming so maybe that's why people said it was hard? I had to take a break after 2 hours but I'd say not difficult to build. Definitely recommend.”

“Overall I’m very pleased with this piece of furniture. It’s solid, heavy, and looks great in my living space. The only reason I took a star off is because it was a beast to put together! I would rate my own skills at furniture assembly as advanced-intermediate, but this piece of furniture challenged me. I was able to do it myself, but it took at least twice as long as recommended. Having two people and a power drill would have made the job easier and faster.”

“This console is perfect in our space! I like that it is constructed with solid wood and stained a beautiful MCM color, a blend of modern and retro. The sliding woven doors are a great touch. It was fairly easy to put together as long as you can follow visual paper directions… at times needed two people to flip long panels as they are heavy. The hardware came in a separate package and was labeled numerically and by the number of pieces each. The only suggestions for improvements would be a couple extra cam locks as 2 of ours broke during installation, and that the manufacturer would not put a BIG white adhesive warning label on the interior back panel. I’m working at peeling it off but it’s really stuck on there and tears easily (see photo). Outside of that I’d highly recommend for the style and quality!”

“Shipping was quick w/ no damage. Need two people to assemble, took approximately 2 hours to build the unit without the drawers, I completed those by myself the next day and took about 45 minutes. Furniture did have a smell but dissipated after two days w/ the windows opened. Overall a good purchase, looks nice and came together nicely, no difficulty assembling. Would recommend!”

“I honestly can’t even believe this is being sold at Ashley. 1) the base of the entertainment center is mounted crooked (luckily it’s less noticeable from the front) 2) these are the worst instructions I have EVER received to put together a piece of furniture. I am pretty well seasoned with putting stuff like this together, it took me 7 hours and I still am not done. 3) many of the drawer holes are misaligned with the metal piece you have to drop in to tighten the bolts (they do not go deep enough and so each drawer has taken me about 30 minutes and I have 3 to go) 4) many of the pieces came scuffed or scraped and are noticeable from the front. 5) this item was a gift and I really wish Ashley would refund them for the item. I cannot BELIEVE the cost for what we received.”

We had 3 people working on it over 2 full days - and all 3 of us have plenty of experience with BIY furniture. Also, many steps required extra work, such as drilling or filling with sawdust. Other than that, it's quite nice. Also, the wood is a bit more orange than walnut typically is.”

“Top piece came with a large chip in it, right in the middle on the front edge. Additionally, delivery service left the boxes (comes in two) in my driveway against my garage on a rainy day instead of on my front porch. I was offered 10% off but then they would also take away my one year warranty? They also offered to “potentially” send a replacement piece, we opted to get a new top piece so they opened a case but I’ve had zero updates. It also took us hours to put together, directions are fine (not super clear), but the pieces are really rough tough to work with. Every single hole in the five drawers were too small so we had to spend time increasing the holes before screwing them together. It is a pretty piece though. Ultimately this has just been way more trouble than it’s worth.”

“Looks great, but takes a ton of work to assemble!!! I was surprised by some shoddy carpentry - it arrived with a chip on the main shelf, one of the drawers is completely crooked (the pilot holes were not deep enough/aligned correctly), and one of our sliding doors doesn't fit at all (even after making adjustments- looks like the pilot holes were again misaligned). The ratan on that door is also not straight. Plus the stickers on many of the pieces are visible and leave stick marks. We ordered other furniture that was easier to assemble, better made, and cheaper, so I was bummed -- our splurge/nicest piece was the most frustrating!! I am happy with the quality of wood though- it's exactly as pictured - and overall, these minor issues aren't a big deal, but I had higher expectations from Ashley!”

“I think this furniture is very pretty and seems stable, but the instructions were atrocious and were labeled terribly to the point that I was genuinely thinking of sending it back, along with the scrapes on the wood that luckily I could hide with decor. It’s a decent buy but be prepared to question if building with instructions that suggest to be one thing and turn out to be another is worth it for your brain after a long day at work. ❤️ Now that it’s built I’m happy.”
