Save your hard earned money don’t buy Ashly

“Bought the chair from East Peoria Ashley furniture. Salesman ( so called manager ) BJ was Helpful to get the sale….
After getting the chair home the one in box didn’t recline like display model, felt very flimsy and had my worries up after the first time operating.
16 months later on the other hand while closing chair I heard a snap. Next day tried to recline foot rest and it was sagging to left side, tried to put leg rest down & and was stuck. One of the metal bars snapped from under and pulled the wires outta the motor so chair wouldn’t recline back until I flipped it over and got broken metal disengaged.
Tried calling the store 15 minutes before close. The gentleman that answered said he couldn’t find my sale in system and he would call me back the next morning.
I waited until 12pm went to store when I walked in to an empty store with 3 employees sitting on a couch.
The so called manager BJ was twirling his keys and as soon as he realized I wasn’t buying today he proceeded to walk away from me while I was talking to him.
I flat out told him I wasn’t done talking to him and didn’t appreciate him walking away…
He apologized and said “ thought you were talking to the guy sitting down ( that he left me with for 15 minutes. While this gentleman was trying to help, it’s the “ new guy “ that didn’t know how to get my info or invoice records .
Finally after 15 minutes of nothing , and him starting to call other customers about delivery’s while I’m standing in front of his desk. I through my arms up and waved BJ back over. With his tone and attitude like he’s fed up with helping. I told him I still didn’t have my invoice # a warranty claim started etc. and I told him I would never step foot in another Ashley store because solely his actions from me walking in the store and getting the worst customer service Especially from a so called manager.
It’s been a couple weeks and still no call or contact…”

“I'm 5'7 3/4 and it fits me perfect. Feet are flat on floor and back of knees are at the curve. It looks and feels great. The arms cushion actually has cushion, not a lot of air. The width of the leg part of recliner is as wide as you see it in picture closed. Learning the buttons while in chair will take some time to master. It is a firm seat cushion , with the lumbar support you can easily find your comfort zone. The head adjuster is needed , you have to recline back to get the legs up , different from a manual recliner. Happy I spent the money.”

“I have had this chair for a little over a month now and it is uncomfortable and awkward to sit in. The seat depth is very short and the chair feels like it has zero cushioning on seat and back and it triggers my sciatica.”

“This recliner is not very comfortable. The seating cushion is very thin and makes for a hard seat. The arms do not fit well, they are very low, just above the seat height. Another problem is the headrest and lumbar adjustments return every time you close the recliner so each time you recline you have to adjust them back to where you want them. It is always a risk buying a recliner you have not sat in. Had I sat in this I would never have bought it. If it wasn't so difficult I would have returned it. Lesson learned.”

“I have never seen leather fade like this one has. I bought it for my husband for Christmas and the leather on the headrest and armrest are fading. For the amount of money it cost it shouldn’t be doing that. Especially in only 6 months. Very disappointed.”

“The seam between the two leg pads should have been flat. After using the chair for 8 months (delivered 06/06/2024) the cushioning of the upper pad compressed and my leg rubs against the seam. Ashley had a tech come out and his fix was to open the upper pad and fill it with more stuffing That worked about five months and tech came back out in July 2025. He said it was the design and there was no way to correct the problem. Don't know if the store will take it back.”
