Never buy from Ashley again!

“Let me start by saying I purchased over $12,000 of furniture from two different Ashley stores to outfit a new winter home in Phoenix over the past three months. This is my story about two $180 tables included in these purchases. I bought these tables on Feb 15, 2025. I picked them up, unassembled, at the warehouse. when I opened one of the boxes, the hardware was all over the place in the box, but fortunately I finally found all the bolts, washers and nuts. It turns out that both tables were defective. On one the marble top was chipped and on the other, the wood that sits on top of the table was broken, so both had to be returned. On 2/20/25, I sent in pics of the defective nature of the tables. I heard nothing back and so on 2/25, I inquired on status, via email and got no response so I called later and was told that it takes time to process. On 3/6/25, still no answer, so I called in again and after asking to get the call elevated, I got a supervisor that said she created an order for new tables and that i could pick them up on 3/12/25 and that I would need to take the defective ones in and get replacements. On 3/12/25, I called because the tables were unavailable for pickup and found out that they can't be picked up, because there was an IT issue with the order due to a system problem. I asked them to just cancel and issue a new order, but that was refused. Later that day I was told I could go to the warehouse to do the exchange. I get to the warehouse the next day and the staff there told me that we had to open the boxes and inspect the tables because if I left with them, and there were defects, I could not return them. We open the boxes and the hardware was all over the place. I asked the staff there, how are we supposed to do this and they understood, given the condition of the product, it made no sense to inspect it. They brought in a manager who did the right thing - he said they would assemble and deliver the following day. When the two new tables arrive, one had a clearly defective leg. the delivery guy was concerned that he will have to pay out of pocket for the issue and I have to get on the phone to explain why I am rejecting so he is not stuck paying for the table! Today, I finally get the other replacement table and its fine. One of the delivery guys acknowledged that assembly of these tables is not reliable and during delivery he knew where to look for issues. During this process, I tried to reach US based customer service by calling corporate headquarters as their customer service is based in the Philippines. The receptionist there transferred me to the Philippines because she had no idea where the call was going, so I called back in again and was told there is no one in the US to help (unbelievable -some there manages customer service, but receptionists have orders that all calls go overseas.) I also called the store manager and he was understanding, but acknowledged he has no authority to do anything to help. If you have issues with Ashley, good luck getting any smooth resolution! this is just my story of how Ashley serves customers!”

“A beautiful table but the white marble top had a very noticeable black mark across it. I would return but my husband doesn’t want to take back since he’d have to take apart . Disappointed it has the black line.”
