Firm side not at all Firm!

“I had high hopes for this pillow. I did not feel any difference between the soft and the "firm" side. The "firm" side is not at all firm. In addition—and this is probably my biggest gripe about this pillow—the width of the pillow is a couple of inches shorter than a standard pillow. This is probably the worst pillow I have ever purchased. I would have returned it immediately had I not (stupidly) removed the tags. Even my husband thought it was terrible and he is not at all picky about pillows.”

“I do love the pillow. It is really 2 pillows in one so it is a lot of pillow. If you like a flatter pillow, this is not the one for you. I like the fact that you can put your arm in between the 2pillows. There are 2 reasons I didn't rate it at 5 stars. One, they don't make a pillow case for this particular pillow. To have it work the way it is designed, you need a pillowcase that is opened on both ends. I just took an old pillowcase and opened it up at the other end, not a perfect solution but it works. My second complaint is that, and I have only had this a few months, is that it doesn't hold up in the center. Even if I fluff it up in the morning, it still is weak in the middle.”

“At first, I fell in love with the soft side of this pillow. It is extremely soft and feels like you're sleeping on a cloud. Over time I realized that I wanted more support so I inverted the pillow to use the firmer side and realized that I actually preferred the firmer texture due to the support it gave. For reference I am a side sleeper. I hope Casper can make a version of the soft side that is a bit thicker so it has more support while still being so soft!”

“I tried three types of Purple pillows while staying in California last spring. I sleep on my side and settled on the Twin Cloud despite trying the more expensive option which seemed less substantial to me. Vacuum-packed two to bring home by plane which allowed them to fit in my suitcase ;-). Thought I'd use the firm configuration but am happy with the soft for now. I punch diagonally opposite corners every few days, turn the whole item over most mornings - and am very pleased with the comfort achieved! My husband loves his too :-). I just hope that the three pillows I returned after trialling but rejecting, found new homes somehow and were not dumped. The 100 night trial is very generous. I just hope it's environmentally ethical too?”

“I have neck issues (herniated disc), so I first tried the Purple Harmony pillow. That pillow did not work for me, so I was able to donate it to a shelter and get a refund. I was bummed, though. Then, this TwinCloud pillow came out and I thought I'd give it a try. Very happy that I did! I haven't had an issue with it going flat - I fluff it every now and then, usually use the firm side, but love the option to use the soft side if need be. I haven't used it as an unzipped large pillow because it doesn't have enough support that way, but it's so nice that I can choose firm or soft depending on how my neck is feeling. Very cool pillow and concept! It's been over 6 months now that I've been using it.”

“I made up my mind to purchase the Purple Harmony in December as a holiday gift to myself and seeing progressive discounts for purchasing multiple pillows, I decided to purchase another for an old friend. He decided on the Twin Cloud. He said I should order them both for myself, try them both and give him the one I liked the least. I liked the Purple Harmony. I could not try the Twin Cloud because it was too big and bulky and I didn't have twin/double pillow covers for it. And my friend would not come over to pick it up either. So it just stayed on my shelf for several months. Finally in July we met and he picked it up. I called him later and he said it was a good pillow for his feet, which were achy. On Aug 31, the same day I received this email requesting a review for this pillow, I also received a card from my friend. It read 'The pillow is GREAT! Promoted to head pillow'.”

It wasn't until I called that it miraculously appeared on my doorstep two days later with no reason given for the long wait, I bought this for Christmas because, my husband LOVED our purple mattress so much, that I thought he'd love the pillow. Sadly, this pillow was "like sleeping with your head on a mountain", but not because of the firmness (quite the opposite, they weren't firm at all!) just that it was too many layers under his neck. I ended up cutting the pillows down the middle and sewing them up to make four separate decent pillows, none of which were firm enough for him. And returning them for a refund would be a huge hassle for me. I would not buy pillows from this company. Stick to mattresses!”

I have 3 degenerative discs in my neck & lower back

I like that there is a space in the middle of the pillow for a place to put my arms. I just wish that Purple would come out with a pillow case for this pillow that lets you use the middle space to its full advantage because right now I’m using a normal pillowcase that blocks the other side of the pillow off.”

My only issue is the fabric gets caught multiple times when zipping it to the firm size. I’m worried I will break either the zipper or the rip the fabric in the process. I also wish they released a pillow case the same time as the pillow. I find the cotton outer fabric of the pillow kind of scratchy compared to my cotton jersey sheets.”

“I loved my Purple Harmony pillow so much, I slept on only that pillow for 13 months. Then I became intrigued in this new pillow called the Purple TwinCloud Pillow, so I had to get it. The first night I slept on the TwinCloud pillow, I felt like I cheated on my Harmony. To give the TwinCloud a fair chance, I've been sleeping on it since I first got it. I'm giving it all 5 stars just for the dreamy comfort of the pillow. I feel like my head is on a twin cloud!!! It supports my neck and head perfectly throughout the night and into the morning. It has been the perfect pillow for side sleeping. I prefer the softer side. The only thing I don't like about the pillow is that I am constantly picking off fuzzy curly white stuff all over the pillow when it is not in a pillowcase. It doesn't really bother me when I have the pillow in my SoftStretch pillow case. Then I can forget about that. I am eagerly waiting for the pillowcase for it to be released so I can unzip it and still have it in the pillowcase. I'm a little concerned about washing it in my old top loader washing machine with an agitator in the middle in fear that it might wreck the pillow.”

Needs Improvement

“The pillow is basically 2 ordinary pillows sewn together. I think it’s a great idea, they just need to execute it much better. It’s WAY too lofty, you’d think they would've put 2 half-sized pillows together so that all together it makes one pillow when zipped, but each half is almost a full pillow on it’s own. The soft side is better for all positions, the hard side is too hard, even for a large side sleeper like me. The stitching in the pillow was also frayed and unraveling with loose cotton coming everywhere so not the best finishing on it. And it gets hot really fast, no cooling features at all from what I could tell. Only good thing I could say was that it was filled very evenly. I also figured out this technique where you can leave it unzipped and rest half against your headboard and then flop it down quickly if you want to change positions, but to do that you can't use a pillowcase.”

“When I received the pillow in the mail I was super excited, but when I opened the package and looked at the pillow my heart dropped. I took pictures of it right out of the box. It was covered in fuzzies, 100% of the surface had white fuzz on it. It came off easily enough with a lint remover, but was still hard to get all of it off. I unzipped it completely and the inside had small piles of fuzz. Upon further examination I saw tons of loose strings coming from the seams of the pillow. Some came off easily, some are still attached and are about an inch long. I put it in the wash, as directed by the tags, and it ruined the zipper. I have a top loading washer. I did call customer service while it was in the wash and they said that the fuzzies and loose strings weren't normal. Customer service was very nice and easy to work with, but they didn't seem super concerned that I got a new pillow in the state that I did. I got a discount and they offered if I wanted to cash in on the warranty, but I shouldn't have received a pillow like that in the first place. It was super comfortable when I first used it. I'm a side sleeper and I'm using the firm side, I'm afraid to unzip it and flip it to the softer side as the washer destroyed the cheap zipper, the look of it is very cheap and plasticity. This pillow really hurts my ear. It's super comfortable in terms of right amount of fluffy, but support is super lacking in this pillow. My neck isn't supported, and it feels like it has hard spots especially where my ears hit. I'll wake up with ear pain, I've never had a pillow do this before. Overall, I'm very disappointed in this pillow, was going to buy a mattress from here, but with this experience we'll no longer be doing so.”

“I chose this pillow because I like the versatility of it being able to be firmer or softer. It being a newer pillow that didn’t have any reviews I took a chance on it and I am glad I did. I’m a mostly side sleeper and this works so well for me zipped to be firmer. I will say I have another pillow underneath it and it works perfectly for me. I am a hot sleeper and it is a bit warm to sleep with but I quickly got used to it. It doesn’t fall flat at all throughout the night, didn’t smell when I got it out of the box, and really does feel like a cloud. I’m really happy with this purchase and I hope this pillow lasts a long time.”

“I bought this pillow thinking it would be as comfortable as one of their older styles. It is not good quality. There were pills of the soft stuffing all over the pillow that was wadded up in the Purple bag. The zipper was difficult to unzip and fluff flew everywhere. There are no holes in the casing, the fluff is from the factory and packaging. This would not be bad if it weren't for how uncomfortable the pillow is. I have it on the soft side to be lower loft. It is almost tube shaped. I tried changing it to the other side in case the tags were incorrect. I cannot tell the difference. If you like a sore neck this is the pillow for you!”
