“Exactly as described and fits my needs. The only thing that bothered me was that there were no screws for the middle of the backing, to fix the backing against the middle/fixed shelf so there’s a little bowing in the back. I used double sided sticky tape to fix that. Also, one of the shelve’s wood tape, was on the wrong side so my husband had to drill holes for proper assembly. It’s something we can fix at home, but if you’re not comfortable handling tools or woodworking, it may be a problem.”

“I understood that this Trinell Pier shelf was "Made of engineered wood" and would have a "Rustic gray planked finish and replicated oak grain." But I also understand "engineered wood," in the context of furniture construction, to mean MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) and I was expecting some sort of veneer, even a thin Formica or plastic. But this shelf is plain old particle board with a paper-thin coating having a wood-like pattern imprinted on it (think color photocopies).
And ours arrived with several defects in the fake wood paper (shipped that way since the outside box was fine). Plus, it is heavy. It's too much of a hassle to return or transport, so we're keeping and using it where appearances are less important than our main entrance (which was the initial thought).
I recommend folks wanting a shelf that looks like the website photos look for something that specifically says "MDF" or plywood, with a wood veneer...or even better, real wood (but for $120-175, the former is more realistic.
We've bought similar-priced pieces of furniture from other online stores, and they all were made with MDF, so this caught us by surprise.”

“Easy to assemble except the back panel that comes folded in two does not become fully flat. Also, all shelves have round cutouts on the bottom to be fixed to the main body, but 3 shelves that are movable also have these cutouts that are exactly where the shelves rest on metal pegs (see the pic), so shelves are resting on a thin layer of material and are easy to break if the load is heavier than 15 lb.”

“Can’t beat the price, but it is cheaply made. Random drill holes are obviously a production error (see photos). No reason for them to exist. Overall, I’m satisfied. It was a pretty simple build, took me an hour to put it together, just myself. But I don’t know if I would purchase again. Make sure you put the back part on. I was going to leave it off because it’s so cheap, but it was too wobbly without it in place. Video instructions were super helpful (QR code on instructions).”
