“1) bought 4 of same units. I am a big strong very handy male, and each took no less than 2 hours. This is to open the boxes somehow (which they are telling you to not cut with a knife but are such thick layers of cardboard that is not possible without tools), to assemble the frames, nail the backs, and assemble and slide in the drawers. Don't believe anyone who says "45 minutes". Not with the drawers, impossible 2) not much info in the instructions as to how the sliding hardware works as to the drawers. Some of it was anchored in such a way that were not moving at all, had to pry them with very hard effort to get them going. Then you are supposed to attach them with a tiny screw from inside the drawer to a metal slider outside of it / to the side, and not much room to do that.. and these things are heavy once complete 3) packing is not great, as in very thick boxes on outside, but nothing between the parts on inside, so basically finished panels had banged into each other inside the box and the dark finished top on one of my 4 units was badly damaged. I have no time ot nerves to deal w exchanges see pics”

I understand it's cheap, if i knew before I ordered it for her. I would have told her pick something different please. I also understand that they may not open all the way for safety reasons.... “The material is a low density fiberboard. Large chips of wood pressed and glued together. Surprisingly the quality of this is better than others I have seen, but it isn't without it's problems. We ordered two of these and found one of them on piece #3 was cracked clear across the piece. We continued the assembly and I was able to sure up the part that was cracked with an aluminum plate. Their are some really new levels of cost effective assembly I have never seen before. The drawers have a metallic hook that grips into the opposing piece when levered into position. Also seriously consider picking up some gorilla glue extreme. Using this on all the mating surfaces really makes this feel like it is more solidly built.”

“Would not purchase again. Very disappointing when you put the dresser together, get to the last drawer which is one of the final steps only to find that holes aren’t drilled making it useless. So now I have a dresser with one missing drawer that’s brand new. I try calling on a Saturday to see if I can get a replacement board, only to get a recording that the customer service is only available during daytime hours M-F. So now I have to take time away from work to attempt to get service on a faulty product. Where is quality control? I used to think of Ashley Furniture as good quality at a reasonable cost. But I’d rather pay a little more for a brand that takes pride in what they sell. I can only hope I’m able to get through to customer service this week and they expedite the correct piece. We shall see if their service is any better than their quality control.”

“Lots of drawer space for the only $200 I paid after my promo discount. Be aware that the drawer having a 16.5" depth only pulls open 7.5" making it somewhat challenging at times to put away and access certain items. Note/caution- when assembling the drawer side walls using the provided plastic assembly dowels, do NOT hammer in to hard, otherwise the plastic dowel head cap will break off (happened to me twice), where I had to drive a screw nearby in each instance to keep the components together. I also found somewhat disturbing and a hassle that 2 heavy unfinished very thick particle board left and right hand blocks (roughly 14"x14"x 1.5" thick each) are to be joined together using a common pin and round joining anchor method, which is totally inadequate if you are not extremely careful...I was not, therefore I experienced that joint totally failing and needed some clever drilling and screwing. Those 2 blocks when assemble are positioned along the back of the cabinet and sitting upon the bottom shelf to not only provide counterweight, but also to stiffen up and square the entire unit before the back panel is nailed to the back of the unit.”
