“Hate this table so much. Bubbled warped wood from condensation on glasses. Bought the warranty which didn’t cover it because it was considered abuse. So iced glass on table is table abuse apparently. Crumbs get stuck in the cracks and you have to get a brush to get them out. Often have to get a vacuum to try and get crumbs out of cracks, the edges of the veneer planks flake up like participle board sitting in the rain. Kids can’t draw art because there are so many grooves underneath it messes up there drawing attempts. Buy a smooth table!”

“This is my 2nd Marsilona table from Ashley's. The first table, the wood swelled from water damage. Now the replacement table has swollen. You CANNOT leave any cups with fluid on this table. Even if the cup sweats, you have to be weary of water damage. I bought a similar smaller table from Rooms to Go in 2000 and I had never experienced this with the Rooms to Go table. I ended up giving the table to my sister, but I wished I had kept the smaller table and had the kids eat on the floor!”

“Had our table for about a year now and LOVE it! Such a beautiful, super sturdy piece! I repurposed 4 ladder back chairs from our old dining room set and my husband made the bench. The only thing I dislike is that the table soaks up all the oils from everyone's hands, so all around the first couple inches around the table is smudgy and oily. I've tried several products to try to remove the oils but no luck. I was hoping it would keep its matte appearance but instead the table constantly looks dirty. Still a beautiful piece that will hopefully last for a while.”

Warps Badly

“I have had this table for over a year. Anytime anyone spills a liquid, the table soaks it up like a sponge and the table warps. It doesn’t go back down. I’ve ran the dehumidifier with no luck. Also, once you get scratches in the table or matching chairs the pressed wood shows clear as day. It also indents almost like softwood. I wish I had saved up for a solid wood table and chairs. This doesn’t hold up to every day use with small children or kittens in the house. In addition, the grooves make it hard to clean. I have to attach a soft adapter to my vacuum hose to get out crumbs.”

“We bought this table and 8 chairs, they are beautiful. We looked at the table in the show room, and despite all the potential crumb catching nooks and crannies we went ahead and ordered bit anyway. To get around the crumb collection we ordered a piece of glass set to arrive the day after the table. While placing the glass we noticed some of the top planks seemed loose. We put the glass on anyway because there was no way anyone was moving the glass again. This table somehow in the 1 day we did not have it covered obtained scratches. Again this is something we have chose to live with. We put it at the end we rarely use. Over we like this table, it looks nice, but good forbid we ever have to move it or the giant fragile piece of glass that is necessary to protect it.”

Looks Can be Deceving

“The table is gorgeous and sturdy. I absolutely LOVE the look. The problem is, the top is not sealed and any liquid that is spilled will seep into the cracks and under the veneer. My table has already been replaced due to water being spilled and veneer swelled. I'm terrified it will happen again and given it is a Dinning table.....it's bound to happen. While it may look good, it's not functional. The chairs do not match the table either. They are much creamier than the table, almost a yellow tone. You can't tell until the light hits just right.”

Read reviews about top so I purchased Warranty for top wood that if you never use within 5 years get all Warranty cost back. I took the advice of a reviewer and purchased a glass to cover the top because of crumbs getting in between planks. It does take away from the beauty and I am constantly wiping away fingerprints, which is a hassle. But it will protect the top and I just keep it wiped down. If I did over, I’d just buy Warranty n vacuum crumbs. Absolutely beautiful table!”

“I've been looking for a farm tablecwith big, chunky legs for a long time. Finally found this and I'm really pleased! It's solid and well built. The only thing I wish was different is the top - the spaces between boards tend to be a crumb magnet. I'm going to replace it with 100 yr old barn wood and my hubby will use this top for a desk. Even so, the legs/table base are worth the cost.”

Beautiful... but

“Update: I love this table, but after normal use the top becomes shiny- as if it's soaking up all the oils from our hands etc... it doesn't look like the beautiful natural matte wood finish like when we first got it. I don't like it. I don't want shiny wood because it looks to fake.”

Love this table!

“Everyone that comes to our house falls in love with the table. They all think its Ethan Allen or some other more expensive brand. We've had our set for almost a year. It has seen plenty of family dinners and Thanksgiving and it has held up nicely. It's very sturdy. The chairs are top quality as well. As with any wood top, you need to be careful with hot items.”

“I've been searching for a farmhouse table and really wanted something authentic but they can be pretty costly. My husband and I wanted to make or refinish one ourselves but we are just too busy. We found this table on sale and couldn't beat the price. It's a clean and newer look than the authentic worn wood I wanted but it is beautiful and solid nonetheless. It was delivered promptly and assembled within minutes. The delivery men were courteous and even made sure to protect my 100 year old wood floors during assembly. The size is perfect and although I think it would most comfortably seat 6 it could easily accommodate 8 if needed. Now to find some parsons chairs to match!”

Disappointed!!

“we purchased this table about a week ago, it was finally delivered today!! Looks beautiful, however a few panels were loose, so we called and they said they would give us a new table, we went and all the tables they had in the warehouse had the same problem. I really loved the table, but unfortunately we can't keep it. I even asked my husband if he could fix it, but he as he said "not fixing something that should be in good condition" after all it is a new table!!”

In Love

“I purchased this table and the matching chairs about a month ago and have not regretted it! I took a gamble and ordered online without seeing it in person, which I have never done. Glad I did! It is a heavy set. Made very well. The color is definitely a cream color and not a true white. There are rustic finishes to it throughout the painted parts. A true farmhouse look. The wood part is what I guess I would consider a Walnut color. Very versatile all around. The only warnings I would have is that the chairs all slightly wobble (like other reviewers have mentioned) but I have my set on an 8x11 rug so that eliminated that issue. The table top has areas that crumbs can get stuck in if you have kiddo's. A hand vacuum should handle that though. I wouldn't hesitate getting this set even with those two things in mind. It's a beautiful table.”

Shoddy table top

“While this table looks great, it doesn't hold up to basic household use. Within one week of use the table top veneer has warped. I spilled one glass of water on table top and water immediately seeped into the table top between the veneer strips. The wood beneath the veneer swelled and warped the table top. I don't think it's too much to expect a table top to be able to withstand a simple water spill. Some sort of waterproof sealant between the veneer strips is all that would be needed but apparently that wasn't in the design.”
