“I love the look, colors, and design of this piece. But the top is molded composite material, with a painted/glazed finish. It scratches so easily at the slightest contact with anything (including serving bowls), leaving behind huge white scratches and scuffs. I'm well outside the return window so I'm going to have to find a way to protect this top before I lose my mind trying to cover every scratch.(Have yet to find a furniture pen that matches the color.) It's also very textured and will collect food in the texture and cracks. Wouldn't buy it again!”

“The quality of the table seems pretty good. However, there is one major issue I have with this table. I cannot tell if it is a manufacturer defect, or a design flaw. On the bottom of the table, the legs are connected to a flatwise board that spans across the table. There is a gap in the center of the table between the table top and this board. Therefore, when you push down on the table top, this board flexes until the gap closes. When you pick the table up (it is fairly heavy) the board flexes and makes the gap bigger. I genuinely fear that something is going to break when the table is picked up and moved. There definitely should be some sort of attachment at this point.”

There are small white places on each piece. We bought this set only 4 months ago and have used the table and server only a couple of times. We’ve used the counter height more, but each piece has the white places. The top has a very thin layer of the stain. So disappointed. I would not recommend this product until a better top is used.”

“I purchased this set about one year ago. I absolutely love the look it’s gorgeous! HOWEVER the table top has bubbled up in a few places. I keep a table cloth on it and use placemats. I do not put anything hot (just dinner plates with food on it). I’ve read other recviews stating that condensation from drink glasses/bottles is causing the warping, the finish is also rubbing off in places. You can rub it off with your finger. You should be able to set a drink on a dining table. I’m gonna call the warranty place hopefully it’s covered.”

Terrible Surface

When we contacted Ashley about this, they sent out a repair man who used one of those "crayons" to cover up the marks and then said that's about all you can do. Highly disappointed. Well an hour after that the table got 2 bubbles under the veneer...what? a kitchen table thats not water resistant?....useless for a family with kids. I have a warranty on it and yet to hear back if they'll honor a replacement...but if they do now i have to seal the table top with a poly so it waterproof's the cracks? Shouldn't the mfg do this prior? I also added grout to the gap around the picture frame edging to keep crumbs out of it...never even gave a thought to water. Great looking set but not functional for what it was designed for.”

One problem was that after a glass of water was left on the table, drops of water seeped into one of the cracks and I got a slight bulge I plan to put a clear glass top on the table to prevent further water damage. “This table was delivered yesterday. And it is absolutely beautiful. But I have one issue. The table top is not flush. Each plank is a different height so when I set a plate on the table it the plate doesn't sit flat. And when you cut the plate moves up and down. Is it normal to have that?”

“I was nervous buying this online because they didn't have a floor model in the store, but the table is perfect. Very Solid. Even though it's a vaneer top, it has a nice feel to it. I included a picture to show how seamless it is blended. It is easy to clean. Love the extra storage with the shelves and the drawers (on both sides). The design and details are perfect for what I was looking for. Country, but not too country. The distressing isn't so much that it looks old and dirty. Perfect size. Doesn't extend, but since it fills the space nicely, I don't mind. All in all I am so happy with it. I wish I'd looked it up though because it's nearly 200 cheaper on another website.”

No protective finish

“The finish started coming off of my table within a month. It is getting worse. I have covered it with a table cloth. The manufacturer said it was my fault( I mentioned that my grandkids may have set a wet glass on it, but you would expect to put items on a kitchen table that could be wet or warm). No problem I thought, I have an extended warranty. They said it is a manufacturer's issue. There is no protective finish on this table top. In the mean time I'm still waiting for resolution. No response from the warranty people. What are my options now? I love everything else about this item.”

“My husband an I just purchased this entire set, we were looking for something that was both rustic & had the farmhouse features that we love. This table is so beautiful!!! The only thing we were upset about, is that we wanted a bench on one side, we were extremely disappointed to find out that a matching bench wasn't made for the bar height table..... it's the only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars... we settled for the 4 chairs but compromised exactly what we wanted only because the table really is beautiful!”

“I ordered this two toned table with all photos on the website as well as customer review photos showing a dark brown top. It arrives and is a grey-brown top, more grey than brown. I called and inquired and was told that AI photos make it look darker but that it actually is grey. It has been a hassle to get it returned but supposedly it’s going to be picked up today.”
