Assembly not for beginners

“Unfortunately, this didn’t come with information how to modify items on the piece as you’re building it. The fitment was very difficult to say the least. Had it been someone else without knowledge of modifications; this item would have been returned. Several areas were very difficult to fit up during assembly. I also ran into an issue with the poor quality of cam locks that came with the item. I contacted SEI support. They were as helpful as possible. They were also very friendly. They’ve shipped me replacement parts for the item. I’ve yet to tackle it again. One last area that was an issue, was the drawer frames. The track supports came with pre-drilled holes for attachment. The screws were too small for the part, so they stripped out, leaving the track sides unsecured. I installed larger screws, which took care of the issue.”

Nice, but drawer does not open flat as pictured

“This looks nice and I needed a corner liquor cabinet, which it works well for. In pictures I really liked that the drawer opens up flat as an extra surface to make drinks or place objects. But in real life, the drawer doesn’t lay flat. It’s at about a 20 degree angle, so there’s no way to rest anything on it. I initially thought I may have done something wrong, but with the way the hinges attach, an alternative isn’t possible. The place they screw into is just two blocks of wood pre-glued into the sides, so I think what happened is that the blocks were glued into the wrong spot, causing the angle.
But this is also the last thing assembled on a pretty involved assembly, so I wasn’t about to try and undo it all or return it. Overall I have kind of so-so feelings about it all and the purchase, but for the price point I couldn’t get anything else similar so I’d consider it “good enough.””

“The cabinet arrived well packaged to protect the contents from its journey. However, I do wish they’d consider using some of the newer environmentally safe pleated cardboard and paper sheet protection rather than the styrofoam that was used. Clean up was a time consuming mess with the bits and pieces of styrofoam packaging.
The instructions were good and nothing was missing. Set aside some time to patiently put it together. I’m 68 and it took me about 3 hours to do myself. A few hints… #1 don’t rush it. #2 lay all the pieces out on soft protected surfaces #3 be methodical, read and follow the directions closely #4 don’t over-tighten any screws or cam screws. #5 be prepared to fine-tune the cabinet hinges and drawer slides for proper fitment.
Overall I’m pretty happy with the cabinet and how it turned out. It looks nice in my dining area corner and fills a need. Recommended!”
