“The table and bar stools were sturdy and went together in an afternoon. This grey color WAS NOT my first choice... in fact, I'm not a fan at all. It's more reflective like a painted surface than weathered wood. I was disappointed with the color choices for this style of table but any port in a storm... right? One of the screws that holds the stabilizing bar on the bottom wouldn't bite into the wood-like-product that the member is made of. It stripped immediately. I had to get a larger and longer screw to make it stay together. All of the screw holes lined up properly which made assembly simple. My biggest gripe is the lack of color and style choices. We wanted the brown wood grain color but the shelf included a wine rack or the table included an ugly electrical connection on both sides. C'est la vie.”

Assembly was fairly easy but some areas in the instruction sheet was a challenge but got the assembly finished. Rec'd the table with 2 stools and 2 high back chairs/stools. All is well with features and size. Just recently moved and needed this table and stools for the size and is perfect for our needs wants and desires. Assembly and unpacking was done by one person (me) and in my 70's. Just take your time and lay everything out. Thanks!”

“Love this table! I was skeptical at first because some of the reviews I read started that the surface scratches easily. I went out and bought clear coat to use but never even had to apply it. I've set stuff on this table, slid things across it ands there's not a single scratch...I guess you could scratch it easily if that were the intent...but as far as just normal, regular use with dishes I have no complaints and am very pleased with this purchase. I plan to buy 2 more chairs and move the barstools to my actual bar in the near future.”

“The book shelf part has hinges that are pre-attached to the back and sides. You are supposed to open the sides, 90 degrees, to allow the shelfs to be placed in-between the two sides and back. Upon opening the sides, they only opened about 60 degrees instead of the 90 degrees they were supposed to open to. When a little pressure was applied to the side, it split the particleboard without ever getting close to the 90 degree mark.”

“We really love this table. We bought two and put them side by side. If we have a lot of people over we then put them end to end. The smell went away in under 1 week. We found that we prefer the bench seats compared to the high back chairs. Negatives: Don't throw away any packaging until you are positive nothing is damaged. We found that both of our tables were cracked on one side after cutting up the packaging. There is lots of packaging.

I spent 20 minutes on hold for their customer support and finally gave up - but I'm glad they have one. I deducted a star for the bolt and long wait with no results. Otherwise, the table is just what I had in mind.”

“I recently received my dining set after a long month wait. I was so excited that it finally arrived. After the delivery guys set it up it looked great! However, there was a terrible odor coming from the dining table. I called Ashley furniture and they said that it was common for new wood furniture. It smelled like gasoline. I thought it would go away after a day. The smell made me feel so nauseous that we had to put it in our garage to air out. It's been a week now and the smell is still as strong as the first day. I can't stand it so I will be taking it back to the store. Unfortunately, Ashley furniture says that they don't do refund. So that is why I am giving this item a 1 star. I'm terribly upset with this purchase.”
