Patchy finish, quality construction

“The quality construction of the dresser is nice but the finish on the dresser I received was very inconsistent. I expect natural wood to have some variation but one drawer was significantly darker than the rest with a patchy wood grain pattern that was very different than the other four drawers. I may have just gotten unlucky since the dresser I viewed in-store looked fine. I submitted a return request the same day I took delivery and am still waiting to hear back about picking the item up four days later.”

Scandinavian style chest of drawers

“I purchased this chest of drawers in April 2021, I received delivery in August 2021. The drawer gliders, despite being the highest quality Ashley offers, stick when opening and closing the drawers. The mango wood is soft. Upon delivery while the drivers were attaching the legs, they leaned the dresser on it's side and a screw lodged itself into the veneer. I moved houses, one of the legs broke off in the moving process. The part of the wood that holds the screw threading completely came apart from the leg. My solution has been to remove the other foot and use the chest without the feet. This works well for me since I am short, I can finally fully see the top drawer. I appreciate the Scandinavian style, I like having "solid wood" more than particle board, but I sometimes wish I'd looked for a used vintage chest of drawers and refurbished it to have a similar look. I hope this chest will last me through at least one more move.”

“Looks great. Some areas on the drawer have paint that looks worn off, but can only see that when you’re up close. The drawers are a little difficult to fully close. You really have to force them close, if not they will not be fully closed.”

“Our chest looks nothing like the showroom. Drawers don’t work properly and staining is uneven. We were told it was solid mango wood and it is instead a laminate veneer. Very disappointed in the quality. In the showroom we were told how solid the wood is, well, it’s not. Drawers don’t align. Now we are told they have a no return policy! Really!? They can sell you anything and you have to keep it?? Even after an immediate phone call with concerns and a visit back to the showroom? Buyer beware! I believe a sign should be posted that says “ALL SALES FINAL”…..That would give buyers the information they need before purchasing anything from Ashley’s. It has been a terrible experience instead of one filled with excitement about a new purchase.”

“The dresser is beautiful. The bottom door will not close properly and the delivery noted this and said someone would reach out. It’s been 1 week but no contact has been made. The drivers were excellent but just need the door to close properly.”
