Buyers beware

“It’s a piece of junk. The drawers felt a bit weird from the get go but I chose to ignore it since I was traveling often the year I got this dresser. The appearance didn’t look at all how the display was in the store. It seemed like they just haphazardly added the weathered effects to the wood without really smoothing them out or laminating the wood so it looks and feels very dirty and rough. I didn’t realize the depth of how shoddy the quality is until I moved and tried to remove the drawers to make it lighter for lifting. The base of the furniture is just some flimsy wooden sheet nailed to the wooden frame so using a dolly to move it was out of the question. The support planks for the drawer’s railings are made of compact wood and it is “secured” by thin nails to the solid wood frame. This meant it could not support much weight. A stack of let’s say 8 jeans would be enough to off balance it when you pull the drawers out causing the bottom of the drawer to scrape against the frame and obviously doing it enough times caused the nails to wriggle free. Eventually the drawer’s railings simply broke off. I also bought the bed frame and the night stands. The bed frame is not very stable. The hooks that connect the rails to the head and foot boards don’t properly secure and hold it all together. The night stands are “OK”. I also ordered the TV stand for this set and it was the same story as this dresser. Misaligned latches, shoddy internal structure. Personally I am never buying from Ashley’s again but if you still want to buy from them I’d say you should be prepared to be extremely cold and aggressive with them if the quality doesn’t meet your expectations. I had to call customer support so they can pick up a separate piece of equipment that was functionally useless and they tried to pull some bs tactic to discourage me from getting a refund. Something about first needing to attempt to donate the furniture and providing a receipt before they can give you your refund. Lesson learned.”
