Why is customer service so bad?

“I’ve been trying to return this item for the last week. Called customer service to get instructions in how to return but they are unable to generate a tracking number. Stated they call me later but haven’t heard back. I knew I should have trusted my instincts and not purchased from Ashley after hearing about others bad experiences”
