“Like everyone’s saying I bought this crib about a year ago, I even bought at the time what I thought was the toddler bed conversation kit but it’s not at all correct there isn’t even ways to comment it to the crib I either take off the whole front rail or buy a new bed, extremely disappointed in this Graco product.”

“This crib says its 4-in-1 meaning in order to convert the crib to a toddler bed you have to take off the front panel. After I spoke with the manufacturing company they informed me that this crib isn't compatible with any rails. So your toddler can just roll right off the bed. That's the "conversion". Real safe. Never buying Graco or Storkcraft again!!”

“Love this as a crib, but like many of the other reviews as soon as I went to convert it everything changed.
I ordered the roll guards or whatever you want to call them and when I went to attach them I realized that the lower support bar comes off and there's no way to replace it and no way to attach anything to keep my toddler from rolling out onto the floor. I have multiples and the other version I have converted easily because the frame appears to be totally different.
I absolutely cannot just leave my 2-year-olds with an open side to his bed, he will roll right off.
Certainly do not purchase this if you are hoping to have this grow with your child.”

“I purchased 2 cribs for our Grandson, one for our house and another for him at home. I purchased the 3 and 1 crib. All indications on their packaging said it "includes everything you need" to convert from a crib, to a toddler bed to a day bed. That is NOT true. You need to purchase an ADDITIONAL piece to convert it to a toddler bed. And ANOTHER piece on top of that to covert to a daybed. Nearly everything we purchased was a Graco product. If you are purchasing this as a crib only it's not terrible, but if you are looking for a true 3 and 1 stay away from this.”

“Loved this crib till I needed to change it to a toddler bed. I was really disappointed when it didn't come with the pieces to convert it. Now I need to find the pieces and they were practically impossible to find. When I did fine them they are 159.00 a piece and you need two. I can find a brand new toddler bed for the cost of the rail for this one. This makes absolutely no sense. I have the whole set dressers and changing table. I feel really mislead. It's says all you need and that is a lie.”

“Like many other reviewers, I too feel misled. Had no problems until I needed to change the crib into a toddler bed. The toddler convertible does not include the front support rail as shown in their product images (lower bar with Graco logo on left corner. Conversion is not included and haven’t found it available for purchase anywhere. The model number/date does not work with the numbers on my crib. Unless you’re ok having your precious little one sleeping on a toddler bed with an exposed steel frame and a less than sturdy frame support (with a non-existent front bar), best stay away from this “1-in-1” crib!”

Only Imagination and More Money Make This a 4-in1!

“The Benton was a decent crib but as others have mentioned, it doesn't convert to a toddler bed. Since we've purchased it, new wording has been applied to the description that it converts to a day bed. But as any parent knows, you'll need a rail as children get adjusted to the new setup. Not only does it not come with a rail, you cannot purchase one. It doesn't exist for this model. Additionally, because of the spring frame sinking lower than the crossbar on the outer frame of the bed, you cannot adequately or safety connect any other bedrail made for this purpose. We eventually got a toddler bed rail knowing it wasn't going to attach to the bed and would also damage the frame in the process -- which hurts any resale value, of course. Now, as I feel like I've settled on being in this for the long haul, I came back to find out how to turn the frame into a full-bed headboard, etc. Nope! There is apparently some kit I need to buy. Well, not gonna happen. I'm letting this mess go.”

The assembly instructions just say to remove the front panel, but there’s no lower bar as pictured and I am super not comfortable with those exposed support beams, especially with active kids. “This was a great crib when my daughter was under two. Now I’m ready to convert her bed to a toddler bed. I snagged a toddler rail awhile ago when I saw there was limited amounts. I kept it until now. I took the front side off to realize that I can’t even use the rail i purchased. I apparently need another piece called a stretcher piece? So $100 later and I could/should have just bought a different crib. I cannot even find a stretcher piece to buy! This is incredibly frustrating and disappointing”

“Aside form the extremely UNuserfriendly assembly instructions, as with MANY others I paid so much for this crib so I could convert it into a toddler bed. So now I have a toddler but no bed, just a really expensive wooden reminder that false advertising to new parents is widely acceptable. Everything was fine with it being a crib up until we NEEDED to change the cribs to toddler bed as my son can climb out now. This 4-1 crib does NOT have everything needed for all four stages (crib, toddler bed, day bed, full size bed). I felt I have been misled by the product description and photos. I’ve searched the internet high and low and I cannot find the kits/guardrails for my son to safely sleep in it. I’m pretty disappointed.”

“I bought two of these only a year ago for my twin babies. I cannot find the compatible conversion kits and rails anywhere. Now I feel like I wasted a ton of money, expecting to have been able to utilize these cribs throughout my babies’ lives. I’m so upset and need to convert very soon. “We bought this for our grandson thinking it would last him as he transitioned to a toddler bed, however there does not seem to be any conversion kits to a toddler bed. We thought originally when we bought it all of the necessary components would be included, but they were not. Then we figured we would buy a conversion kit. I have searched and there are no conversion kits for this 4 in 1 crib. Even your official website does not offer a conversion kit to purchase. This crib is very misleading from the way it is advertised! It should be labeled crib only since it doesn’t convert to a toddler bed. How are we supposed to convert it? I bought the toddler rail- which 2 years later I realize was actually not the correct one and the right one is nowhere to be found. Too many hazards

“Received this as a gift and loved the look. It seemed sturdy and safe. However, like many others stated the paint comes off VERY easily. My 1 yr old has been eating the paint chips of the top rail. If u look at the instructions the completed product isn't tested. Only some parts are. Are they painted in the US to certain specs? I doubt it.
Also the missing hardware for transitioning to the bed is purposely deceitful.
Caution Stickers labeling front/back were misplaced at the factory. That caused a lot of confusion.
My biggest concern is a definite safety issue. Her leg was trapped 2 times in 2 days. Her knee/thigh was wedged so tightly in the front rail she had bruises wrapping around her leg. The only way to dislodge it was to have her Dad pull apart the rails while I slid it out. If we weren't in the room, noticing it immediately im afraid she would've broken her leg. Im terrified it will get in her sleep so we aren't able to comfortably keep her in it”

“We have loved this crib, right up until it was time to transition to a toddler bed. We’ve got two cribs for our two boys, and when our oldest was ready to switch to the toddler bed configuration, we learned that the rail, or any of the toddler conversion pieces, are not included, and not available for purchase anywhere that we can find. Would be fine if it was labeled correctly I guess, and we would love to keep using it, but we can’t convert it without sacrificing the safety of our toddler!”

“Do not buy this crib. Horrible. I bought this specifically because it was advertised as a convertible crib to toddler bed. It is not. There are no parts available to convert this to a toddler bed now that my child is older. This is incredibly frustrating. On top of that, as other reviewers have said, the paint chipped off right away.”

“As the others have noted, it’s a decent crib but now that we’re ready to convert?! Ughhh! Can’t find the kits anywhere once I realized I was misled and this isn’t truly a 4 in 1 as it claims. Can’t return as obviously I’m beyond the time frame and was gifted it as a baby shower present. “We purchased 2 of these for our twins. They worked well as cribs but calling them 4 in 1 beds is ridiculous. If you want to turn them into toddler beds, there's no way to accommodate a toddler rail- you just take off the front of the crib leaving it totally open. And to turn it into a twin bed, you need to buy a bed frame...so essentially it's just a headboard at that stage. I see why the price was low on this. They should market it as what it is, a crib with a slight amount of extra potential, certainly not anything more.”
