Nice Bed, Would Have Appreciated a Recommended Mattress Size/Height

“I ordered this bed with intention of using it with a 10" mattress, which is ok but there is way too much space at the headboard to mattress. This creates a huge gap that will allow pillows and even someone's head to slip through. Even a 12" mattress would have required at least an additional 4" or more mattress topper to fill that gap; either that or use a box spring to elevate the mattress. Beyond this issue, the bed is very nice; was simple enough to put together though tedious, but what isn't these days? I like this bed for my guest room and it works just fine!”
