The other thing is that it says up to 20 lbs but my girl is 12 and it’s going to grow over it really fast so you basically buying this to use it until baby is 3 or 4 months max sadly. One of the parts had signs of oxidation i didn’t like that at all. I had to clean it before using it”

For your Sanity

“This swing/bouncer combo was such a sanity saver with my son when he was born. He didn’t care for the swing nor did he care for being rocked in my arms, but found the bouncer and vibration functions soothing. We gave it away once he outgrew it but I was so thankful we had it. Additionally, my son had Gerd when he was born and the cover was easy enough to remove and wash if he spit up on it. And the bouncer is portable so it went with us anywhere we’d be spending more than an hour or two. Fast forward almost 3 years later, I’m due with baby #2 in a few weeks and we bought the same exact one. I like having the swing/bouncer option because you never know what the baby’s preference will be and this product covers your bases and is reasonably priced compared to the other options out there that don’t even have the versatility. The only cons I could even mention would be the music is less than desired and the vibration function is a bit loud. Neither of them are bad enough to knock off a star in my opinion though. We just didn’t use the music, and though it’s audible, the vibration noise was just more like white noise. I firmly believe for your kid to be a good sleeper, they need to be exposed to noise while sleeping and it’s shown true with my first. 10/10 recommend.”

No installation guide tells you 100% on how to figure out things, people need to put common sense into the installation process and have some patience.”

At first it seemed easy and I was glad to be a Graco mom. They want me to package up the swing and ship it back for inspection. That means I’d have to disassemble, find a huge box, take to FedEx. I am so disappointed right now. When I read the reviews originally, I thought I’d be happy with this swing but I definitely don’t recommend it. When you can fit the battery perfectly it is easily knocked loose while vibrating and stops after a couple of seconds. Safety Concern Outweighs Pros

“I never used a swing for my first child and was happy to test the Graco Soothe and Sway as part of the Stellar Product Test Panel (I received the product for free to test). The product delivers what it says - 2 in 1 - which having a product do multiple things is nice! The biggest problem is that the snaps to secure the cover to the seat frame frayed very easily. It frayed so bad that the snap itself was barely attached to the strap. I question how long this would hold up with use and wash. Second, the assembly instructions could be easier to follow. I suggest watching a video. For some reason - maybe mommy brain, I had a hard time matching the parts to the diagram. Third, which isn’t so bad - I wish the toy bar could be used with other toys. The toys that come with the swing attach by velcro so you can’t switch out a favorite toy. Otherwise, there are wonderful features. The 2-1 always is attractive. The swing isn’t slim and takes up way too much space for my small living space. I doubt I would have bought it on my own.”

Thanks to Stellar Product Testing Panel we were given the opportunity to try the Graco Soothe 'n Sway LX Swing with Portable Bouncer. This item is innovative as it is actually two products in one. It’s a swing and a bouncer. The versatility is truly amazing. It’s relatively easy to switch between the two, although I still struggle when placing the bouncer back on the swing to line it up right away. It takes me a few seconds of finagling it to get it on correctly. It also doesn’t have any way to lock the bouncer on the swing portion. It feels sturdy enough on the swing, but I’m more worried about my older toddler trying to remove the bouncer off the swing and it resulting in an accident. I feel like that could be a helpful added safety feature. I like that the vibration, sounds, and songs are battery operated apart from the power source of the swing, that way it can be separated from the swing and still have those functions available on the bouncer. The sounds and the toy bar are welcome and helpful features for sure. Although, the higher end of the vibrating portion seems a bit strong in my opinion. It’s neutral colors and clean appearance would match well with a lot of different styles and decors, it matches ours perfectly. My favorite feature would be that the swing is able to face 3 different ways and allows for a lot of variety for how baby can swing. Overall this product is very innovative and it cuts down on the amount of items you’d need in your home by combining two in one. I do wish the swing portion was collapsible to allow for storage when not in use. It would not be very small space friendly. Luckily we have a lot of space so it’s not an issue for us, it would just be a nice added feature to this already awesome item. “Thanks to Stellar Testing Review Panel, I’ve been able to test out and review the Graco® Soothe 'n Sway™ LX Swing with Portable Bouncer. PROS: - Compact size. It isn’t as bulking as most other baby swings. The legs don’t stick out either which is nice. - I love how there is nothing in the way to set LO down and pick up LO out of swing. Bonus points for that!!! - Comes with extra features on bouncer/seat including: two settings low and high for vibrations as well as sounds. - Bouncer EASILY separates from the swing. Anyone can do it. - Bouncer can be used anywhere around the house. - Has a cute mobile that can easily be removed if needed. -Swing is fairly quiet even on high. I like how the speed setting lights up on the dial. - It’s very stylish too! It’s so nice to have a price of baby equipment that isn’t an eye sore. It’s pleasing to the eye to have as an added piece in my living room! - I was impressed by how well the parts were packaged and protected inside the box. Every piece of metal and plastic was wrapped on avoid scratches and such. Well done! - Easy to remove fabric for cleaning - Easy to clean floor under swing without moving!!! CONS: - Swing MUST be plugged in to use. Not battery operated. We literally just went through a 3 day power outage during crazy weather and this would have been a wonderful feature to have. - For my mommy peace of mind, I would prefer to hear a click of some sort to verify the bouncer is safely connected to swing base. Surely the swing/bouncer has been through all the safety tests to be able to produce and sell. However, there’s something about simply setting the bounce into the swing base seems misleading and too simple. Ha! Extremely minor and nitpicking but that’s my preference and I still use the swing. ;) - I do wish this swing came with a rotating mobile attachment and a reflector/mirror of some sort. My baby loved to stare at the one on our previous swing. This would have been an added bonus. - Assembly... for people like me who LOVE building and putting things together, this is great! However, for the average joe, there are several parts and assembly required. The directions had a few questionable moments but all in all, I was able to assemble without a problem. - As well packages as this product was, it did produce a lot of unnecessary trash. I feel like they could reduce the amount of waste in packaging the product. All-in-all, I love this product and highly recommend purchasing/registering this product for your LO.”

A swing that’s not really a swing

“The style of this swing is not what I had intended. It has very little incline so the baby is essentially laying flat to maybe 20 degrees or so and forced to look up but not necessarily forward. I wish we had purchased something that would have allowed for better visualization for our baby. The functions it has which allow it to move in different directions are all too similar to one another and don’t make a difference with soothing our little one. I’m not sure why it was designed this way when it should have included a way to have baby in a better sitting position.”

Better for larger babies

“I love the feature of being able to take the rocker off the swing and bring it into any room with me. The vibrate feature is great. It does not have music though. The swing feature is too intense for my 10lb infant and his head rocks too much. The toy bar also doesn’t stay up when swinging.”

Vibration & music auto shuts off

“Swing works great, but the vibration and music/soothing sounds automatically turn off after 30 minutes even though my swing is plugged in and not battery powered. It doesn’t state in the manual that it auto shuts off after 30 minutes and Graco support chat states the reason for the auto shut off is to not disrupt baby’s nap, even though it automatically shutting off is disrupting my baby’s nap and waking her up.”
