Recommend for a Kid or on a Budget

“This is the 4th queen bed platform that I have bought and assembled. It is also the cheapest of the 4 and the only one of the 4 I bought online without actually viewing in store. All though assembly was easy there was some minor issues and some areas I think they could change without drastically swing the price point of this platform bed.
Like:
-Price
-Assembly Instructions, easy to follow
Dislike:
- Assembly Parts: two bags all the parts mixed together. You’ll have to sort them out and you have two different screws that are 5mm different in length. Not sure why they could not just separate and label the parts on a thin piece of cardboard. First time I’ve experienced this with parts mixed together.
- Drawers, it’s a nice edition but when the tracks are somewhat bent at the end and screws are not flush to the track the drawers don’t slide freely. Fixed that and added a little WD-40 and it isn’t perfect but the drawers work much better than they initially did.
- Slats: are held together with staples and a ribbon. The slats are thin, would have been better if the slats were thicker and were made to screw in to pre drilled holes on the sideboards. Only the top middle and bottom screw in to the sideboards.
- sideboards: sit in between a set of screws on the headboard and base of the bed. I noticed that as I tightened the screws down it was somewhat bending the hooks resting on the screws. In the event you would have to disassemble and reassemble the bed I am not sure if there will be any issues or if you’d have to straighten the hooks out again before reassembling. The other 3 queen platform beds I have assembled all had the hooks going straight in to the legs of the headboard and base then resting on two metal bars.
Overall:
My wife and I agreed that as our kids got older and needed a bed of their own we would only buy once. Our kids went from crib to a toddler bed to a queen bed. We bought this bed for our 6 year old as our other kid outgrew his toddler bed. It’s a nice bed with minor issues and would recommend it to someone on a budget or for a kid. If not would recommend other platform beds with better quality parts.”

Like the bed but...

“I love the bed, we purchased it online which I was a little nervous about, but it arrived on time and was very easy to assemble. What I did not like was we purchased the bed on sale for 521.99 the next day I received an email for Ashley showing the same bed on sale for 393.99. If only I would have waited a day!”
