Attractive but Horribly constructed drawers

“I have the two nightstands, the tall dresser and queen bed.. It's a very attractive set, isn't why we all bought it, sadly the drawer construction is horrible, drawer boxes are constructed of 3/8" thick solid wood and the drawer bottoms are only 1/8" thick, but what's worse is the single track drawer slide, a stamped metal center rail with a plastic guide, ALL of the guides broke after 6 months of use!, so now all my drawers drop when you open them, causing the metal track to damage the finish on wooden rail below it. I will never figure out why furniture makers cheap out on the drawers, it makes no sense when you consider we open the drawers every single day!.”

“Beautiful piece but delivery experience has been terrible. I am told by customer service fedex and ups are only options for this piece. This means you are relying on a single delivery driver to lift 100+ lbs box. First unit was slightly damaged but not noticeable. Second units marble top was destroyed. Glad sending replacement was painless but now I can only hope it doesn’t show up damaged and I’ll likely have to make sure I’m available to help lift off truck. I would pay more for a better delivery experience but was told that isn’t possible. Now I am left with a broken piece that I was told I can do what I want with. More of a hassle than a consolation prize. End table would be five stars but awarding 3 for the experience.”

“The North Shore Nightstand makes a handsome console in the room I am now furnishing. But, quality control leaves a little to be desired. A portion of the rear fiberboard panel had torn away before packaging with a small corner broken off. Easily replaced with a piece of 1/8" thick piece of plywood. Yesterday, I noticed a small bulge on one side. When I checked, I found the end of a screw protruding. I backed it out and caused a small piece of veneer to come off, Dark walnut stain hides that, but the bulge remains as the particle board was pushed out. I am not a fan of particle board. A design using a solid wood frame and panel might be a nice alternative.”

However Ashley Furniture did everything they said they were going to do as far as the replacement process went. Someone came out, assessed and I recv'd my new nightstand a few days later and they picked up the damaged one as well. I would do business w/Ashley Furniture again. Stuff happens, but they took care of it and made everything right.”

“Nice looking stand for the money, lots of space. Wood is softer and does scratch, but if you don't have cats, dogs or kids, should be good. I have cats, they haven't messed with the end table, so it is good, however they were able to scratch the headboard fairly easily and the end table is made of the same wood. But then again, most stuff is today.”

Still today, this bedroom set is BREATHTAKING! I am just as in love with it as I was when I saw it in the early 2000s! Everyone who walks into my bedroom is simply Awestruck!
