Beautiful Furniture -- issues with the lift top and customer service

“I love the look of the desk with the matching bookcase. However, I have had two desks delivered, both with the same issue. The stand up portion of the desk does not attach to the magnet on the desk and therefore is not flush with the rest of the desk. I have had an Ashely repairman look at the desk and he was unable to fix it.
I have requested that I be permitted to change the standup desk to the plain desk but customer service is not allowing that and did not allow a reason. Customer care from the store I bought the furniture from is attempting to help me resolve. Its a simple exchange and a small credit to consumer which would result in a great review.
If a favorable result is reached I will update my review. I highly recommend the bookcase.”

“Love having a L-shaped that looks like furniture and has a stand up option. I was going to buy a regular stand up desk, but didn’t like the look of a plain table with no drawers. The matching bookcase looks great with this desk. Marking off 1 star because sitting underneath the desk cuts off your legs if you are sitting in ergonomic alignment. I’m 5ft 4in and have to move my chair all the way up to reach the desktop, but doing so crushes my legs. My husband who is 5 ft 10in can sit at the desk without problems, so maybe it is a short person problem. For the stand up feature, I extend it all the way and it seems like a good height for me. Not sure if it would work as well for someone who is taller. This desk will work if the measurements work out for your stature. Otherwise you probably need a regular stand up desk with limitless height adjustments.”

Sturdy, beautiful desk!

“I put this together by myself once it arrived. The desk required leg installation only. Definitely hard as one person trying to flip it multiple times to install. It recommends two people to put it together, I would recommend asking for help. The return also only requires leg installation, (a much lighter piece) then you remove the drawer from the desk to attach the return and use the removed drawer in the empty drawer slot in the return. Beautiful piece and is not too overpowering in my 10x10 office space.”

REALYN L SHAPE LIFT TOP DESK PERFECT!!!

“The Realyn L shape Lift top desk is perfect! Im not sure what the bad review was all about. Its solid very heavy. Easy assembly putting legs on but putting the legs on the lift section of the desk needed two people. The lift section is completely sealed on the bottom . You need to open the lift and install the legs in the lift opening. Also needed help lifting the desk into the upright position. When removing the right drawer from the desk to install the return, pull the drawer all the way out until it stops. There is a small pointed lever on each side of the drawer. I had to push it up on the left and down on the right then nudge the drawer out. Slip the return into the opening. Line up the 4 screw holes underneath and screw the bolts in. Very easy and I (female) could lift the return and install myself. I then put the drawer into the return opening on the right. I put a little bit of WD40 to make the drawers slide easier. The lift is great. With 2 big monitors you need to lift in full position or it will drop down. But it works great!!! Solid. When putting back down hold it all the way down gently. There is no lever. You lift from bottom edge. Has a gentle spring action. I dont lean on it either. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! I did not see an option to post pics. If I can I will..”

Pretty but tall and difficult to sit under -and smells

“So this desk is gorgeous. Love the lift top. It's easy to build once you figure out how to put the 2nd piece into the first piece's desk drawer. But the fake drawer area underneath where your legs go is too think. And the desk is very high (I'm 5'7") so I have to raise my chair to sit at it. When I do that, my legs don't fit under it. I'm basically stuck with it, so I'm having to be uncomfortable because it was too much work to move it up two floors, build it, and then have to turn around, take it apart, haul it back down and return it. Which kinda sucks. Oh, and it smells. Bad. Like a terrible chemical smell that permeates the room. I hope it wears off soon.”
