Cute but terribly designed.

“Loved the bed for a while but after a year the center slat support that holds the bed up cracked/broke, making the bed unusable. This wouldn't have been that much of an issue since I was able to get the replacement part after a couple of weeks but while we were screwing the wooden slat to the metal brackets, the beam cracked/split again. Along with that it was recognized that the way the bed is supported seems to indicate that if the bed moves at all, the single wooden beam starts to turn and take a lot of the stress from the weight, worsening the existing crack. It doesn't seem like a great design to have most of the support go on one single wooden slat. Maybe it would have worked out better if this were metal.”

“We have had this bed for close to 7 months now and it is still perfect - it makes me feel like I’m living in a luxury penthouse! The bed at first was an adjustment with getting on/off due to the sides but we don’t step on them and only sit on the sides a few times per week for a very short time so we haven’t noticed any change in the padding or structure. We got this bed as we have a baby who sleeps with us and it’s been perfect for that. It’s easy for our baby to get on and off the bed without worrying about falls. It’s had a few spit up incidents on the side but has always cleaned up easy, no stains or smell with just using water and a little bit of dawn soap. I highly recommend this bed to anyone wanting something large dreamy and affordable for the look.”

“In short- I love this bed. It’s provides the exact aesthetic I was looking for in my room. We already got two small blemishes on it, and I’m happy to report that both came out with just water and elbow grease. The only flaw is that if you sit on the padded sides, it will crease a bit and the fabric sags. Not a big issue right now, but I imagine that it would be over time if my husband continued to do it. Apart from that though, we love it! Highly recommend.”

Stylish, but structural quality is iffy

“Pros: This bed frame is stylish and easy to decorate around, and easy to clean.
Cons: Structural pitfalls
Our Main Problem: After owning this bed for a couple years, the center support slat has broken. Let me explain the structure of the bed: underneath the mattress are four large heavy wood (or perhaps particleboard?) boards that make up the platform. They span the entire length of the bed and underneath is wide open space. These boards sit on a little ledge and screw into the upholstered sides and then you have the mattress sitting atop all that. These boards are decent quality in my opinion. Underneath these boards in the open space is where the problem is... There's just not enough support! There is one tiny center slat that supports the middle of those four large wood boards, and that small slat is supported by a few screw in wooden legs. We have a king size bed, so I think the weight of my husband, two dogs, and myself, plus the weight of the heavy wood boards and the big mattress just got to be too much. I'm honestly a little impressed that center slat hadn't given before now. It's dinky you guys.
Other: If you use the upholstered sides to step up onto the bed, the padding will start to wear down a bit. This is to be expected in my opinion, but if you're diligent about keeping dirty feet off of the upholstered parts, you can still keep it looking nice for a long time. The fabric has been easy to keep clean in my childfree, but pet-filled home. Stain remover has worked on minor stains, and a lint roller keeps the flat surfaces clean and free of dust and dirt. I haven't had many issues with snags in the fabric, though I am exceedingly careful with this piece of furniture.
Overall I love this bed, it makes me feel like I'm in a luxurious hotel every night (well, it did. and it will again once I fix the bowing). But I wish we didn't pay so much for something that was going to break in such an integral part. I'm relatively handy, so I'm pretty confident that I can build something better underneath the wooden boards to improve the support, but I'm suuuuuper annoyed that I even have to do that.
Bonus if you're still reading: I have had an issue with every single piece of Ashley furniture I have ever bought. As have all my friends. Do with this info what you will... :)”

“We received our king-sized Langford bed after a week in the two largest boxes I’ve ever seen delivered to my home. The boxes are intimidating but my husband and I set it up ourselves with a fair amount of ease, aside from two hidden screw holes we found after a few minutes of searching. Once set up, the bed is just as monstrous as the boxes. It takes up 80% of our bedroom. However, we absolutely love it! It took a full day for us to both look at each other and express our love for our new bed. We upgraded from a queen platform, and this bed is without a doubt an upgrade. I worry of its longevity as I’ve read other reviews about the wooden slab, underneath the planks, to break. Our last bed was going on a decade no issues. So I guess we shall see how long this bed will last. We also got this bed on sale so that made me happy!”

“I saw this bed for the first time used in the HGTV Smart Home in Albuquerque and loved it. I followed the link to the bed on the Ashley website but the description on the website states it isn’t compatible with an adjustable bed. I have a Sleep Number so sadly I shifted my focus and started looking elsewhere. After months of looking I still hadn’t found anything I liked as much as this bed. I was looking at the HGTV bed again and realized they’d used it with a Sleep Number! I realized they used it without the slats/platform but as a sort of frame around the Sleep Number. I measured my Sleep Number bed, it a flex top king, and then went to the store and measured the inside of the bed frame to make sure my bed would fit inside without the slat/platform part. To my surprise my bed would fit so I ordered the bed. However, when the bed was delivered the two sides had a ledge which supports the slats/platform part. Those extras ledges, which I didn’t include in my calculations because I didn’t realize they were there, were keeping the my bed from fitting into the bed frame by less than an inch. The ledge was not only screwed in but also glued in place. I was able to expose the ledge by removing the fabric covering and then my husband was able to remove the ledge on one side using a flat head screw driver and hammer to pry the ledge off. It really wasn’t too hard although I must say the bed is built well. With the ledge off, the bed fit in perfectly! I left the ledge attached on the other side, you really can’t tell it’s even there. So, technically this bed is not compatible with an adjustable bed but with a little work you can customize the Ashley bed so an adjustable bed fits inside. Honestly, you can’t even tell that it isn’t a platform bed with just a mattress. It looks great, I love it!! It’s so worth the extra work.
PS……..I added a pic (which shows the current awful bedding as my new bedding hasn’t yet arrived) but I wanted to show how perfectly my bed fits in the frame of the Ashley bed.”
