“I chose rustic brown and it is an absolutely perfect match for our existing antique rustic bedroom furniture. This bed is of legitimate, heavy wood quality and is worth every penny. Assembly is simple and straightforward. You’ll receive three boxes: one with headboard, one with footboard, and one with the side rails. The rails work with a slot system and everything else goes together with heavy gauged Allen key bolts, which even have blue Loctite pre-applied. The bed is solid enough once assembled that there isn’t any creaking or shifting of any kind. This is a true quality piece!”

“I highly recommend this bed. Although it is not made of "real" wood, it has been quite durable. My husband and I have had this set for probably around 7-8 years and it has survived 3 family moves. The only reason I am looking and making this review now, is because we have decided to upgrade from a Queen to a King size bed and instead of replacing the entire bedroom suite, I am going to just buy a King bed. I am glad that Ashley still carries this style. It is well worth the money.”

“My husband and I purchased the Porter King Panel Bed, 2 Nightstands, and the Chest of Drawers. We spent months looking for the perfect set, and this was it! The color is fabulous, the quality is great, and the overall look is so classy. We have an adjustable base/mattress set and the bed fit perfectly around it with no problems. It really makes my bedroom feel modern and elegant at the same time! (the color looks darker in my pictures than in real life)”

“We have had this Porter king size bedroom set for about a month and we love it! We haven't had an issue with the center supports on the bed. Each of the three Boards have a support touching the floor. I am not sure if that is an update to the install. We do have a sleep number bed that comes with a very sturdy plastic base, so that could be the difference. Only issue we have had is with the chest - waiting for repair as one drawer was Installed crooked. Hoping the repair is done satisfactorily.”

Poor support, but great bed with a simple fix

“I just received the bed yesterday and I did read the reviews that stated that there was a poor support design. There are only three 1/2 inch by 2 inch support beams with a support running to the ground that is not long enough. After the first night there was a noticeable sag in the middle of the bed. I went to the local home store and bought two more beams and added a 8 inch support to the ground on all 5 beams and now the bed is very sturdy. The fix only cost $15 dollars so i'm not that upset, though I would have rather not had to make any adjustments. The bed is beautiful and now very sturdy”

Gorgeous furniture but scratches easily

“I have had the set (queen bed) dresser and night stand for a year now. It is very beautiful and I absolutely LOVE the finish on it! I would have given it five stars, however; it scratches really easily though. Be careful when putting anything remotely sharp on it. I have a toddler so I have a few scratches on it. It's a softer wood so just be really careful if scratches bother you.”
