Beware the Cal King Sizing!

“My review is specific to the Cal King version of this bed. Calling it a Cal King is very misleading. A Cal King is longer and narrower than a king. Yes, Ashley made the side rails longer to accommodate a Cal King mattress, but in the interests of saving a few bucks on manufacturing, the headboard and footboard are for a regular king mattress. So, what that means is you have six inches of solid wood extending off both sides of the mattress for you to bang the back of your legs on every time you get in and out of the bed. Needless to say, that's not an enjoyable experience. Otherwise, the bed is nice, and I'd probably be happy if I had a queen or regular king, but I'm not at all pleased with what I purchased.”
