“I purchased this whole set, k8ng size bed, 2 nightstands, tall dresser and mirrored dresser. They look good, but it is very cheaply made. The drawer runners are all screwed up since it was assembled in my room. Just getting the furniture here to my home seemed to be a problem, so having it removed and replaced is out of the question. But it's closer to garbage than it is furniture and Ashley Furniture does very little, if anything, to right their wrong.”

“It looks nice, seems to break easily. After 4 attempts, the last delivery finaly resulted in an unbroken frame. The bed frame edges are out from the slat area where the mattress lays, so beware of banging shins/knees. Also the slat area is a bit larger than a standard Cal King mattress. This means that you can see into the drawers on the bottom corners and coiuld drop things under the bed at the top corners. The drawers are shallow and don't pull out smoothly or quietly due to having just a single bottom rail instead of side rails. The slats are narrow, thin, and mostly unsupported. Slats are 2 inches wide and 3/4 inches thick. Only some of the slats are supported. Even the kittens feared to walk on them just before we put the mattress on as the slates bowed down so much. We feared that some may break. We had 2 8'x4' plywood boards cut to 84"x 38" and placed them over the slats for better mattress support. The boards also covered the gaps in the corners where the mattress does not meet the sides. We have a 12 inch mattress and it puts the top very high. As we are tall that is fine, but it could be an issue for some. Our elderly cat needed stairs and still had a big jump. There is a ton of space under the head board and between the drawers, so if you have pet that fit they will play monster under the bed. Beware of paws and claws. An alternative is to place against a wall to prevent pets from getting behind and under the bed. Just be care of covering heat/cooling vents.”

“Took 3 broken ones and 6 months to get originally. When I got the 4th one I gave up because there was no point going back and forth when them yet again. Well 6 months later it collapsed on the support that holds the slats up and is out of warranty now because they took so long to get it to me. This is not also including the paint defects and creaks as it aged a whole 6 months and the slats started coming up in a week. This was a waste of $1300.”

“I desperately needed additional storage and this bed came to the rescue. I have an adjustable base and a 10" mattress on the slats and I have no problems with the weight nor do I feel like the bed will collapse with normal use. The techs assembled the bed correctly. I dread the process if I ever have to move the bed. The storage drawers are deep and hold quite a bit.”

Good bed - could use better finishing

“I was happy it was mostly constructed vs. IKEA where you have to out every piece together, but the instructions were not accurate and we often had to take apart pieces in order to get them to work. The screws were also hard to see sizing so that was challenging at times to make sure you were using the right screw. I wish it had a hard base vs. slats as the King and Cal King use the same base, so the king is small on the bed - you can see through to the floor and the sheets get stuck in the drawers. We will likely build something from plywood or similar to create a base so it looks more finished. I didn't like not having a box spring, but it's so tall we couldn't use them. Certain drawers are warped so they don't close all the way shut and there were some dents/scratches - nothing too bad or noticeable. Drawers we're much larger than I thought (due to Covid we didn't see it in person before ordering) which is fantastic Service and delivery was great for the product - will order again from this company. Color is a bit darker in person, but we also don't have a lot of light in our room so that's certainly a factor.”

Suitable but rough fit and finish

“This bed is made in Vietnam and it looks like it traveled every bit of the 8,000 miles. Parts deep inside the packaging were clearly damaged from the factory and required me to fix them with wood glue and longer screws before I assembled the bed. The instructions will have you reading ahead to see if the following step should be attempted before you tighten the task you just completed. Furthermore, the bed frame was dramatically out of spec which wouldn't have been a problem if the tolerances weren't already stacking to create a large gap at the corner of our bed by a piece of trim that was not cut right at the factory. As a result, I had to shim the corner of my bed with pieces of plastic from the box to get a proper tight fit; a circular saw was not readily available in my apartment. These three challenges aside, we like the significant amount of storage the bed provides; both deep drawers on the sides, and the shallower ones at the front are ideal for rolled t-shirts, underwear and socks. It's a comfortable height even for us short folks and supports our mattress well. With the added care I took in its assembly, we don't experience any noises and can say its fairly solid after two weeks of sleep on it.”

“Honestly, I wish I seen reviews before I spent all the money on the storage bedframe for a king size bed. It is extremely poorly made. There is no center support under the bed to support the center of the slabs. Not to mention the slabs are maybe an inch thick and they are screwed into rails that are also about an inch thick. Not very strong when you have a king size mattress, and multiple people sleeping on the bed. Also, because it also supports a Cali king, there is a large gap for a king size mattress between the top of the mattress and the headboard so pillows will always fall down. I had to buy a wedge to put in between to prevent my pillows from falling, and even the wedge eventually slips down. My three-year-old can literally fit in the gap between the mattress and the headboard. And because the mattress is held up on slabs and not anything solid, it is completely open around the perimeter of the bed and you can see the slabs you can see into the storage drawers, which means dirt and dust, and anything else could literally go into the drawers and making everything dirty. The only reason I gave it two stars is because the storage itself is pretty decent. Too bad everything gets dusty from not having a cover over top of it. If you purchase this bed, make sure you get a Bunkie board. I could probably go on some more, but you get the picture.”

“Been repaired twice already. If you plan on having sex this is NOT the bed for you. Then let's talk about how the "installers" did a sorry job even with instructions. The inserts for the bolts got pulled out of the PARTICLE BOARD destroying ANY chance of that to be repaired. "ENGINEERED WOOD"......NO! More like paper and glue lasagna”

“The bunkie boards (flimsy 1" pine engineered wood) are only supported every-other slat, with no center support rail. We thought our Purple mattress would be a good fit for this bed since the pictures online show a low-profile mattress with no box springs. It's not - it turns a fantastic mattress into a lumpy mess that sags terribly after less than a year. For $10 more, they could've supported every slat and had a much better product. Storage is the best thing about this bed.”

“This bed is undeniably beautiful and has a stylish design that really elevates the room. Unfortunately, the quality does not match the look. It is poorly made and significantly overpriced for the materials and construction. Within a short time, the bed started falling apart and the drawers broke, making the storage feature almost useless. If you do decide to purchase this bed, I strongly recommend getting the accident protection plan, you will likely need it.”

“This has got to be the worst bed I have ever spent money on. The bed dimensions don't fit the mattress, (larger so dust, animal hair ect falls in the drawers), the supports for the slats is a joke. They aren't big enough to supply support and all of ours broke within the first week cracking the slats. This is the loudest creakiest bed I have ever owned as well, it creaks when my cat jumps on it.
Would not recommend this bed at all if you and your spouse collectively weigh over 150lbs.
After one year of ownership can confidently say I will never buy Ashley furniture again. I've had better quality from Ikea.
Only reason for 2 stars is because it's pretty.”
