Sagging Cushions

“I bought this couch almost 3 years ago. Overall we love the comfort of it however there is sagging now where we sit. I added more foam to the cushions but that only helped temporarily. The problem is there is no real support under the cushions you sit on. The only support is a thick black fabric that has stretched and torn over time. There are no boards or metal under the fabric for support. How do they expect only fabric to support even a smaller person’s weight? Lesson learned to check the frame and what supports the cushions next time I buy a new couch.”

“Super Comfy and Durables sectional couch! We have 2 dogs and a child who are playing, laying, sitting on this couch non-stop! We have had this sectional for nearly 5 years and have had so, so many compliments on the comfort and size of the couch. It is so soft and comfortable to sit on. Some guests have preferred to sleep on this couch over a bed because it is so soft and comfy! Two of our friends bought the same couch after sitting on it. After 5 years we definitely have some wear and stains, but it does clean up nicely with wet vac upholstery type cleaning. The dogs love to lay on the cushions, so they do sag. Minimal sag or wear in the cushions after 5 years. They are reversible, so we flip them from time to time. The couch is low to the ground, so my father who had knee replacements doesn't like to sit so low. WE LOVE THIS COUCH! WE PLAN ON MOVING SOON AND ARE LOOKING TO GET ANOTHER ONE!”

“We’re hitting the two year mark on owning the Rawcliffe sectional, and I would not recommend it. The cushions are deflated and smooshed. The pillows loose their shape and never look nice. The support under the cushions has come apart and is apparently not covered by the warranty I wasted money on. I do like that it’s easy to vacuum dog hair off of, but keeping it clean it near impossible. I will be buying something new, not from Ashley.”

If anyone knows if we can purchase new seat cushions would love to do that. If you are thinking of purchasing just be aware that the cushions don’t last long. The frame seems sturdy but don’t know what do do with the seat cushions.”

“I've had the rawcliff sectional for over three years. It's held up well and is still comfortable. If this is your primary couch you'll need to maintain it in order to keep it looking new. What I mean by this is you'll need to fluff and rotate the cushions on a regular basis. The back cushions tend to go flat pretty quickly. I find myself unzipping the cushions and rearranging the stuffing to keep them looking nice. I also rotate and flip the seat cushions on a regular basis. If you don't do this, it will sag. This is our primary couch so it's sat on all the time. Cleaning is pretty easy. I've washed the covers and they wash nicely. Spot clean as needed. Ladies, if you're going through menopause and get hot flashes, this couch gets hot! I often find myself having to get up and find a cooler piece of furniture to lay on. It's comfortable, but the material sometimes gets too hot for me.”

“I saw some very negative reviews but we personally love this couch and we have 2 children that love on it as well. The material is very stain resistant and if any spills happen they’re easy to clean up or suck out. The couch is very comfortable. The seat cushions have held up very well. The only thing that has not held up as well is the back cushions but my children have walked on them so I can’t compare them to others that don’t have children messing with them. I just refluff them and move on. I would buy this couch again. It’s quite a statement piece and I get so many compliments on it. My family sleeps on it when they visit and rave about how comfortable it is.”

“This couch has been amazing! It's held up to 5 young children and it's super easy to clean, I've had just about everything and anything you could think of and it all wipes right off. I live in the country, it's a mud pit here, and yet this couch has stayed stain free even with red clay mud. It's not saggy hasn't broke, so far its the best couch I've owned and I go through them every year cause my kids. Until this one. I did get the 5 year warranty for the incase something happens and haven't had to use but I know I'm protected for 5 years at least. If it last 5 years and breaks I would NOT hesitate to buy it again that's how much I love this couch. Owning a white ish couch was only a dream until I found this one. 5 kids country living, yeah, it's perfect!”

“This is beautiful and large. I read the reviews and was nervous to buy it because of what people said about the cushions sagging. I spoke to the salesman on the floor and he told me that all the cushions and pillows have zippers, so if you need to fluff, so just unzip and arrange as needed. He also said they sell extra stuffing, so after a few years if it is too slouchy for you, just stuff some more in. We love it and find it easy to fluff. We also fall asleep on it all the time and we have gotten many compliments on this couch. Definitely go for it!!!”

“I absolutely love this couch! I had my reservations while looking online, but the associate who helped me in the store recommended that my partner and I sit on it and it is extremely soft. I do sink in a little into the couch but it is perfect to get warm and watch a movie. I've fallen asleep on the couch multiple times with how soft and comfy it is! It also looks beautiful. In some lighting, the couch looks beige, in others it looks white. The 3 piece sectional is actually quite big and takes up a lot of our living room but the lighter color definitely opens up the room. The only con (as of right now) is you should probably invest in someone to assemble it. I got doorstep delivery and it was super heavy to move. (Or just make sure to take out the cushions from the packaging before moving the couch).”

“This sofa is huge so do your measurements. I ordered the 4 piece and it was too long for my room. I had to remove the armless chair now it looks great. The color changes with the lighting sometimes its cream sometimes it looks gray. I find using white light makes it appear more gray yellow more cream. I love the fabric so soft almost velvety and it comes with so many throw pillows. honestly feel like I'm laying in my bed on this sofa its so comfortable. The best thing about this sofa is that its so comfortable with out looking too loungey or casual. I personally recommend buying the ottoman it ties the room together and adds to the total comfort of the sectional.”

The salesman said the owner didn't want to order any but he talked him into it now they sell several a day. I was the 3rd person he sold one to that day and he had just ordered 10. That tells you people love it! I have never spent this kind of money on a sofa but I am very happy with it and worth every penny! The only con I would have is that if your room is on the warm side, maybe no AC in your home, then this will be too hot. It's a warm, soft material and I could see it getting too hot without AC. My livingrm is so cold yr round so it feels really nice. Everyone who sees it loves it! Just go ahead and buy it. :) Call furniture stores in your area and ask if they have the Ashley Rawcliffe Sectional. I paid less than what this website shows.”

“Absolutely recommend the Rawcliffe! I actually used the chat service to ask questions about a different couch as most items listed as out of stock online. They were so helpful and answered all my questions and put me in touch with a salesman the next day who could help me make a purchase from my local Ashley store's warehouse. (during COVID and everything was closed). Bryan Sipes from the New Mexico store was awesome! We spoke at length about what I wanted from a sectional. He highly recommended the Rawcliffe! I was concerned about the color (which is beautiful and I love) and keeping it clean because I have 2 teens and a huge yellow lab. I wanted something the 3 of us could all lay down on to watch movies and would be SUPER comfy! Bryan's customer service was exceptional and even though the exchange was over the phone, there was no lack in his professionalism, knowledge, and friendliness. He did not steer me wrong. The Rawcliffe is huge, SO beautiful and EXTREMELY comfortable. The fabric is SO soft! My concerns with our lab are actually put to rest as the couch is very pet-friendly and so easy to keep clean from any dog hair (our lab isn't allowed on the sectional but he leans against it when we're laying down and even likes to rub his face against it, he loves the softness too!) The color parchment is between a very subtle gray and beige and some white and is able to transition between the 3 so matching decor has been easy. We've had the Rawcliffe for over a month now and are all SO happy with it. It is big so be sure to measure, you truly won't regret this purchase. What I'm even more grateful for was replacing an older and now uncomfortable sectional, we weren't spending much time as a family in the living room but its one of our favorite spots in our home again and I'm not kidding, we're spending more time together because of it. I'm attaching a picture of when we first received the couch. Its really beautiful, don't hesitate guys, you won't regret this purchase. Cheers!”

“love this couch however not worth the $$$. after 1 year my back cushions are not wearing the same...come to find out they have different kinds of inserts. 4 of my back cushions have a condensed insert and 2 of them have what looks like a foam was just thrown in....so apparently I should have looked inside the cushions and noticed before the 72 hour mark to get a replacment. SO for nayone buying a couch, check every little detail before the 72 hour mark!!! yes even inside the cushions.”

“I have this couch for 2.5 years. It is comfy and it’s great for watching tv or taking a nap. For durability, I have to say not good. The fabric stays good but not the foam cushions. Over time it got softer not as firm. After sitting on it and it will leave wrinkles everywhere. I decided to fix this problem by adding 1” foam pad on top of the existing foam. It did work & my couch is back to firm again without any wrinkles. I hope this couch will last me for another 2-3 years. It’s a nice couch except the foam cushions are not as good as the other firm couches in the market. By the way, I bought my couch from a furniture warehouse and I paid much less than Ashley prices.”

“The cushions are of very poor quality. They flattened almost immediately; within a couple of weeks. An Ashley representative informed us that both the cushions and framing were made of subpar materials. When these concerns were brought to customer service's attention, they failed to rectify the issue. Also noteworthy, this is a very large piece of furniture. Our family room is huge, and this was still humongous. Proceed with caution. Cheaply made. Do not recommend. DO NOT BUY.”

“I think we got a "Lemon" - my niece sold me on this couch - I loved sleeping on hers. She has two little girls and a medium size dogs who jump on this couch and spill etc... and it's in great shape and she's had it for 4 years..... but mine? I don't have little ones and we are a household of 2 adults and two dogs. Mine is definitely NOT the same quality/condition of hers!!! the springs or whatever supports the cushions just totally collapsed it seems as it sags and its not the cushion. We are in the process of cutting plywood boards to put beneath the cushions (which we should not have to do). I contacted where we purchased and they wouldn't help us as we didn't buy the extended warranty. This is a structural issue - not cosmetic. Our dogs don't jump or play on the couch and again compared to my nieces who gets extensive use - ours shouldn't be broken. I love the material and ability to clean etc but so disappointed and can't afford a new couch at the moment and who would think you would have to replace a couch so fast! Trying to reach customer service or anyone at Ashley is impossible!!!!! I have tried everything to get this rectified to no avail and it's very disappointing that they do not have an easy way to get a hold of someone in customer service etc. If that is important to you, I would not recommend Ashley Furniture.”

It is super comfortable, we constantly have visitors talking about how much they love our it. With 2 kids, 2 dogs and lots of chaos in the house, this couch has stood up to it all. I love that I can just throw the covers in the washer. I fully intend to buy this couch again should we ever destroy our current one.”

“The quality is a 1 star but Ashley Furniture’s customer service is a 0- (ZERO)! Not only that, but they do not stand behind their products. Even if you waste your money on an expensive extended warranty they don’t honor it! My $3000 sofa is either a defective one or they are all very cheaply made. From their response my opinion is their products are cheaply made and that is why they don’t back their furniture! The management doesn’t return calls and just hopes you will give up!”

“Loved this couch when we first got it but the cushions don’t hold up at all!! After a year the cushions are about flat which makes the material loose. We’ve had to replace the ottoman once already. The cushions under the ottoman doesn’t have any support so the whole cushion is sagging and is overlapping the side of the ottoman at some places.”
