Comfortable Set, Great Chairs & Table

“Ashley Furniture fans for years with 2 complete sofa sets in 2 different states, we discovered the Hunt Valley store this weekend. We need a larger DR set; and loved the Burkhaus
set in the store display-- table style, extremely comfortable well- padded chairs, and worked with Chase Rawles who was fantastic. He let us look, checked in on us, found a comparison piece for the server which wasn't in the store, and helped us try the chairs with another set. (I wish all dining room chairs were this comfortable.). We started looking at another set on the floor that was a little less casual, and we liked it's taller server, but we decided we needed to literally sleep on it. We were going to make a decision overnight.
Chase called me the next morning. We decided that the Burkhaus was just a little too bulky and too dark for our small condo dining room.
Pros: the comfort of the chairs and table style Cons: If you want the server to be more like a buffet where you can stand and serve food, it's about 4 inches lower than some. I highly recommend the store and Chase Rawles' customer service. Even though we live an hour away, we'd shop there again.”

A Few Glitches in Delivery, But We Really Like the Set

“The night before delivery my husband hauled our heavy old table out to the curb to make room for the new table. We were not pleased to get an early morning call that they would not be delivering the new table, saying it was on backorder, even though we were told it was in stock when we purchased it. So, my husband hauled the old table back into the house. When the delivery arrived, it did have a table. So, my husband hauled the old table back to the curb again. But, the new table was damaged. We paid for set up, so we were grateful that the delivery staff helped us work through making a claim for a replacement. The company wanted to take the table back that day, but my husband insised to let us keep it until the replacement came (not wanting to haul the old table back in and then out again!). They agreed to let us keep it for a couple of days. First night, we were alarmed when my husband leaned on the table to stand up. It tipped wildly. We did not think it would fall over, but we figiured anything on the table might havre fallen off. My husband was trying to figure out how he could solve the problem. 2 days later we received a replacement table. The new delivery team leveled the new table and it is now very stable. Paying extra for set up was worth it for us. Although the chairs came assembled, the table was not. Besides the assembly, there was a lot of big bulky packaging that would not fit in our garbage cans and would not be easy for us to haul out at our age. As another commentor said, the chairs are going to need sliders. They do not scoot easily without. Despite a few setbacks with delivery, we really like this dining set. It blends well with a mixture of our modern and antique decor.”
