Table top peeling and poor customer service

“We bought this table, and one month later, the table top started peeling. We contacted customer service to see if we could use our protection plan that we purchased to fix the table top, but it wasn’t covered. They offered to send a brown marker to fill in the spots. This table is poorly made and poor customer service. Unfortunately, furniture quality isn’t like it used to be. We will not return to Ashley Furniture.”

“The table is absolutely beautiful, but is not built for every day use. The chairs and bench are fine however the top of the table has a horrible finish. It chips all the time and leaves white spots all Over. It began doing this very shortly after purchasing. I’ve had this table about 5 years and it looks terrible! You can not find a match on the color to touch up spots.”

“I’m so sad. I loved this table right off the bat! Had my eye on it for an entire YEAR! Now that I have it, I hate it. The paint on the table has been peeling since day one. Right in the center of the table massive chunks of paint are just lifting away and it’s so ugly now. It never looks clean. :(”

“The table and chairs look nice, but as others have noted the table chips and peels even with great care when using it. The chairs look nice and were comfortable for the first year, but after that time they started to collapse inwards and had very poor support becoming increasingly uncomfortable.
DO NOT PURCHASE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THROUGH GBS. That has been the worst customer service experience I've had each time we've tried to get our set repaired.
The most recent time, GBS decided to replace the table without giving us an option for a surface repair. Then they told me that we will have to purchase a new warranty for the replacement table and will not honor the length of the original warranty. They also only replace items individually, so if your set has had any sun exposure, don't expect it to match going forward.
Ashley furniture is responsible to deliver a replacement. I have spent over 9 hours on the phone with their "customer service" trying to get the delivery scheduled. They have confirmed a delivery date 3 times, then not showed up on the day promised. When I have called in to find out why, they state that it's on backorder and will arrive on X date. This has happened 3 times already and on none of the occasions have they contacted me proactively to tell me that the delivery date would be changing. Absolutely the worst "customer service" I have ever experienced.”
