Potent chemical smell coming from headboard

“First off, the bed is beautiful and of great quality. We were so excited to get this bed until we actually got it. When we got the bed and first slept in it we smelt a very strong chemical smell to the point that you just couldn’t sleep continually breathing that smell. We ended up having several technicians come and evaluate and said they could smell it too. It was a fight with Ashley furniture just to get an exchange. After 6 weeks, we finally got them to come out and do an exchange of mattress and headboard only to find when the second set arrived it had the same strong chemical smell as the first bed. We did not accept the exchange. And we are still waiting to hear from a manager to get our money back. In my personal opinion, I think the bed should be recalled for that chemical smell. It has to be harmful to your health to be breathing in the fumes.”
