Ashley furniture off-gassing issues

“I can only answer what I know and that would be the furniture has so many chemicals that even after over 3 months I’m still unable to sleep in my bedroom at all. I finally purchased a tester and the formaldehyde is off the charts. From my research formaldehyde levels should be under 0.004 mg/m3 and during the day mine goes up to high teens. Every day I leave the bedroom door closed with a towel at the base of it and I leave the window open with a fan blowing out to pull the chemicals out of the room, plus I have a ceiling fan going and so far 106 days later I’m still unable to sleep in my bed. I couldn’t tell you if the mattress is even compatible because I haven’t been able to sleep in the room because it smells so bad. I have a fair sized room with 7 pieces of Ashley furniture. Unfortunately, this is not the only Ashley furniture that has done this. My couch, loveseat and recliner did the same thing, but it seemed to stop off-gassing a little bit sooner. Unfortunately, the first set of living room furniture I purchased, the dye actually started coming off on my shoes and clothes so they swapped me for another set which was better, but the off-gassing started over again. And from everything I have read, even if you can’t smell it that doesn’t mean it’s not there and possibly causing health issues that could surface down the road. It appears back in 2015 Ashley had been warned about the excess of chemicals in their product and they needed to reduce it. I can’t imagine it being any worse than what’s off-gassing from mine, which says they either did nothing about it or I would hate to be one of their workers in their factory putting this stuff together. I still love the look of the furniture and looked for quite some time before I found this, however, I could not recommend it in all good conscience, knowing it could possibly be harming people. BTW I have the complete Realyn bedroom set in off white plus a matching dining room piece for my TV stand.”

“Absolutely love mine. I purchased in 2020 I just wished I would have purchased the dresser with mirror because now it’s really expensive. No issues still looks brand new.”
