Prepare to get out your saw!

“Please keep in mind “width adjustable” means that you may need to CUT some boards to fit your specific closet size needs. I find that word “adjustable” to be misleading. My closet is 65” wide so cutting the boards to fit was necessary. I cut the 24” shelves to 16” to ensure I had plenty of hanging space. I gave it a 1 because I would not buy again, considering I had to pull out my saw to cut to fit into my closet!”

“I really like this closet set up! I have small rooms and closets in my house, so this is truly great. It was fairly easy to put together, despite the terrible directions. I had to use my woodworking and metalworking knowledge together, as well as deductive reasoning. All the pieces arrived with no damage.”

“This closet system is fantastic. It is so versatile. We had enough space to order the single unit with the drawers because I really wanted drawers and that is hard to come by it seems. We couldn't find any closet systems anywhere due to supply issues and we were debating with 7 closets to furnish what we were going to do. We chose to go with Closets by Design for the majority of our closets and when I found these I decided to go with these for 2 guest bedrooms we have. We got them in less than 3 weeks...I have to wait 5 months for my Closets by Design and these are sturdy and durable. My husband is very handy so it took him about 3 hours for 2 closets. It does take some time to set up but they are fantastic and look great and I am spending 20 times the amount on all my other closets which I want to kick myself for! If I had known they'd come that fast and they looked this nice I would have installed them everywhere. Even for the type of wood they still are durable and look really nice!”

“I'm about 1/2 pleased with your system, why does it have a setup for TWO RODS to go on each section where you are to install the rods for you to hang your clothes? That is senseless because you CAN NOT hang clothes on BOTH SIDES of the section, there is no room for that.
Also, the technician that came to do my installation was not good at all and he seemed frazzled and unfamiliar with your product. He couldn't find the parts needed in the shipment and I had to call in and stop the job. Im in the middle of a major move and still in it that I haven't even found time to do a return! Everything that can go wrong truly has gone wrong.....!!”

“Be prepared. The assembly directions are not the greatest. This is not an hour job. Plan on an afternoon. The quality is fair. You have to super careful with the panels as the laminate veneer material is quite thin. As another reviewer noted, if any of the side panels are not flush against a wall and free hanging, they are not very stable. They need to be reinforced. I used L brackets. Once fully assembled, it looks fine; probably a bit Below IKEA level of finish. I guess you get what you pay for.”

“Understand that if your side panels are not mounted to the side walls of the closet then they are only free hanging. Our closet had 2" to 3" of free space. Could have either "shimmed" the side panels to the wall or we purchased 3/4" wood dowels to go inside the hollow pipes - then you can screw these to both sides reinforcing the entire unit. You have do do something or the side tops can fall off and potentially hurt a child or unsuspecting adult.”
