“I’m really sad and disappointed. The back and sides are hollow. I can fully feel the two pieces of wood at the top and bottom of the arms and only the fabric of the couch in between. Same with the back end. All of this on top of the fact the stitching was done poorly on one arm as well as the staples on the underside. Never seen anything like this and wouldn’t expect from Ashley Furniture.”

Concerned About the VOCs and Odors Coming From This Sofa

“I like this sofa very much because I don't like cushions you sink into, and I also do not like sofas that sit back too far, or recline, or have cup holders or any of that silliness. I also like the fabric. The dark blue is a great color. Unfortunately, I can only give it three stars because it had a strong chemical odor for over FOUR weeks. It still smells now, but it is finally becoming less smelly. I had to do all kinds of reading up on what makes new furniture smell. The glues they use in construction and in the MDF board can smell. I read that opening a window to air it out, using air purifiers, and hot weather can make the VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and formaldehyde in the glues dissipate faster. Fortunately, the hot weather in the past few days seems to finally be helping the VOCs to go away. If you have young children, the elderly or anyone with severe allergies or asthma at home, think twice about buying this particular sofa. I've certainly learned a lot about furniture from buying this sofa and I will be more aware of construction materials in the future. I did make a complaint to Ashley Furniture and they sent an inspector out. I was about to return it, but two hot days in a row seems to have baked a lot of the odor out. I read that online too, that some people turn the thermostat up to 85 for 12 hours while at work and out to dinner, and bake the VOCs out of new furniture that way.”

I have lower back problems and needed a couch that not only had back & seat cushion support, but I also needed the seat area to not be too deep. Most couches these days have deep seat depth which causes slouching. You’ll see a lot of reviews saying they’re not happy with this. If you’re a larger person or wanting this couch to “sleep” on, you’re probably not going to be happy. I’m 5’8 and weigh 130. This couch is an extremely well priced piece of furniture, but that doesn’t mean it’s indestructible. Take care of it and it will last.”

“Firstly, my two delivery guys were amazing!! The sofa itself is beautiful. Heavy and solid. There is a bit of flex to the frame though. I imagine if it is moved from home to home often or if someone has kids jumping on it or if heavier people are flopping down on it…that the frame would loosen up and begin to wobble and come a part. Another reason that I say this is because the legs did not come installed (trust me…put the legs on). Well, there are no pre-drilled holes for the screws and using a drill…4 of the 8 screws just spun in the wood not tightening the legs well. This shows me the wood used in the frame is pine and not very thick or solid. Combine that with the slight wobble it shows me the frame won’t last forever if mistreated. The cushions are quite firm. I prefer that verses cushions that are so soft that you can’t get up. Being said, this is a very nice decorative couch for SITTING. Great for guests or an office. But this certainly is not a couch for a family”

“The sofa is fine. It is not for me but for my special needs daughter who does not live with us as she requires services we cannot provide in our own home. Therefore, a picture in that space will not be included. Took a while for me to actually see it on our last visit. It looked fine to me and is sturdy with wide armrests that help my daughter get up and off the sofa easily. The one they had was so dilapidate that the cushions sank into the frame and nobody could get up out of it easily. However, I tried 4 different methods to check on the delivery after it missed the original date. Even the phone number and e-mail address included in that e-mail did not work. E-mail came back "undeliverable" and the phone just kept ringing - no answer or answering machine.”

There are things I like about it- it has a good color, I like the material, and I like the flat arm rests. However, the seat is not very deep. Today, my husband sat down and we definitely heard something break underneath. None of us are big people and I’m assuming the weight limit is higher than 210 lbs. The other couch has never made a noise and is holding up well. Very disappointed in what appears to be a very unsturdy couch. I must have gotten a lemon. Otherwise, price was reasonable and I expect the couches ( well, one at least) to hold up for our family’s use for the next few years. Material is soft and comfortable and is a pretty dark grey, almost black mixed in appearance.”

I got a text from Ashley Furniture saying my delivery would arrive between 2:30 to 6:30 and received it right at 2:30. I live in a condominium complex and the couch easily cleared the door. After it was setup, I took a well needed nap for a few hours and knocked out very easily. My boyfriend came over a few hours later and thought it was very comfortable as well (he’s 6’ 2”) so safe to say if you’re taller it is a good size even for a small space couch. Would definitely recommend, will update if anything changes, but I have high hopes for this couch.”

It is such a nice couch for the money. I was looking at tons of couches from other stores in this price range and nothing compared in looks, quality or reviews. It gets heavy use from 2 people and 2 dogs and you can't even tell. It's the perfect amount of firm and soft all at once. I personally have figured out I don't like couches with attached back cushions because I am a move the back cushions and curl my legs up on the couch kind of girl, but my partner LOVES this couch because it is supportive on his back when his feet are on the floor. So now I am shopping for a new set from Ashley and he is SO excited to put this in his man cave TV room, haha. The color is leaning towards the navy side of neutral but it really goes nicely with all other neutrals without competing - I have off white and light grey fake fur style stuff and it looks so nice. I ditched the pillows that came with it immediately and never looked back. It's even a little bit cheaper than I paid right now, such a screaming deal. With its slightly smaller length it's great for tv rooms and apartments and small houses like ours.”

“Love it. Its the perfect color just as pictured very soft suede material but sturdy should last a long time. Cushions are not hard or too soft they are just right to me. I thought when I got the sofa it did not come with legs but they were under the siting cushions. Over all I am very happy with the purchase specialy because I bought it at a Special price. Only thing is the legs stain my floor so I would have to get something to stop that from happening.”

Great size for a small living room

“We bought this a month ago and we're very happy with it. A+ for couch naps and watching netflix. The arms are a little hard, probably because they're rectangular but the pillows that came with the couch make up for the firmness. Easy to lean into on the sides and enough space for two people to curl up on at the same time. Price was just right and the delivery was phenomenal.”

I hope it does soften up a bit. It is a little small which is what I wanted, and fits great in a smaller living room. The love seat will definitely be a must with this sofa.”
