“Ashley Furniture and this sofa is complete disaster! The seam is clearly busted, and the corner is protruding into the wood. The rest of the seam on that entire side seems to be on the verge of bursting, just like in the pictures. The box it was delivered in was also damaged, with plastic torn at this very spot on the furniture. Ashley had requested that we unbox and send pictures of the entire sofa before we moved, but we were reluctant because it would have doubled the work. However, we complied with their request the night before we moved. I sent pictures of the entire sofa via text and email on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. But now, no one is responding to my messages. This is unacceptable customer service. The damage to the sofa will only worsen, and we shouldn’t have to deal with such issues when purchasing brand-new furniture. Ashley Furniture’s customer service is terrible, and I will warn everyone not to shop there. I expect Ashley to make amends by delivering a new sofa.”

“This review is for the Cobblestone gray Darcy 3 cushion sofa. Got this Darcy on sale for $299 before Labor Day Monday. It was delivered on Saturday before the holiday. I only had to wait a week for it. Delivery was a breeze. The couch is very sturdy for my husband and kids to sit on. I ordered online unseen in store so it was a gamble but well worth it. The material is soft. The couch is firm. When you wiggle around it squeaks within the fabric not the overall couch. I’m going to buy the loveseat to complete the look for a small living room space. The loveseat costs more than the sofa and was not on sale too or I would have bought it at the same time. Thats my only complaint. Overall, I fully recommend especially for the cheap price. It looks cozy and inviting.”

“The first morning after my sofa was delivered and installed in my living room, I wanted to return it, but Ashley would not allow that. The new sofa didn't have the comfortable feel of the floor model in the Emeryville store, possibly because that one had been broken in over the years. When I sat down on my new sofa's cushions, there was a crunchy sound, like sitting on a pad of plastic straw, and it felt much firmer than I expected. On the positive side, it had an elegant contour, soft fabric, and the color was very beautiful. Ultimately, I decided it was way too big for my living room (I'd also purchased two matching Darcy side chairs), so I donated the sofa and two chairs to Habitat for Humanity. Somebody else is loving it.”

“I have had my darcy sofa in "cafe" for almost 10years. I did not purchase online but through a local retailer with Ashley products. No discrepancies. True to color. I liked the amount of firmness and prestine upholstery, stitched to last long. Looks like "new" condition still after almost 10years. I used an upholstery cleaning foam if I ever needed to and have kept up maintenance. My average weight is 150lbs and would say moderate use in it's lifetime. I would also occassionally fall asleep on it(contributing wear and tear factor). Cushions still holding up without impressions or looseness. Able to remove the seat cushions easily and vaccum underneath. Very sturdy. Very easy to clean and move. No rips, tears or scratches..but I only sit or lay on this couch as it's intended use. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND to any household with occassional traffic(people) to get a couch life of 5yrs or more out of it. Going to buy a replacement, new color soon.”

I paid for the protection plan, attempted to make contact via phone/messenger/email, to file a claim & hopefully get it fixed, have had ZERO success in getting the issue resolved. I will be very disappointed if I have to resort to fixing my brand new sofa myself.”

The photo online does not really show that. The gray is just slightly darker than the photo. You also cannot adjust or flip the back pillows - they are sewn on. I didnt expect the cushions on the back to be attached but I like that they are. It looks like a darker gray than pictured but I think it looks better than the picture. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the legs were kind of hard to put on because there arent any directions or a clear place to screw them in and there was a random plank attached to the bottom of the couch for seemingly no reason. It came out easily enough with a drill but it was random and a little concerning. Other than that the couch is perfect! The seat cushions are pretty firm but It is very comfortable to sit on for long periods of time. If you need something quick and affordable for one person that you dont need to last a lifetime I would say go for it.”

It is a bit stiff, but certainly not uncomfortable, actually with the way the cushions set, I'm not sure you would want the seats to be less firm. The set does not look cheap and is well put together. I read many reviews before I bought this, so I am unsure where anyone got the it is shiny and silky. It is not. It is microfiber material that has no sheen. I've had this set for about 4-5 weeks now, I have not run into the issue of the cushions slipping out as others said they were having and we have 6 dogs and 2 adult sitting on it. I know it is a bit intimating to purchase something sight unseen, but for the price, I don't think you can go wrong. I did buy the charcoal, which is very dark gray with almost a black tone to it. That is probably the only thing about the set I don't care for, but that was my choosing, it has nothing to do with the set. I just think everyone should know how dark the charcoal is, but then it is called charcoal for a reason.”

“I wanted to review after purchasing this sofa 4 years ago to share how it has held up. When I bought a $300 sofa then, I assumed that I would have it for maybe one year before needing to replace with something more expensive. This sofa has lasted after much use! It is heavily used as our main sofa and we also have a large dog that sleeps on it as well. The cushions have covers that unzip to spot clean. I would say that over time, it does get frustrating to keep pushing the cushions in as the Velcro holding them wears over time, but that can easily be fixed by adding more Velcro if it bothers you. Depending on the color you get, it may stain easily so consider a cover. Worth the buy!”

“The Darcy was just about exactly what we were looking for, soft arms for resting our heads, the grey color looks modern and clean, and the back cushions are attached so our dogs can't fling them off. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the seat cushions do slide easily, even with the Velcro, and they're hard to get back under the back ones. We have to push them back in everyday. I feel like it may sag a little in between the cushions as well, but I'm trying to figure out if that's from them sliding or not.”

“I bought the couch with the chaise and the love seat 6 months ago. I thought the price was good especially for 2 pieces. I like how it is breaking in but there a few things I wish were different; the material is soft yet you can feel the slightest grit; it requires frequent brushing. I like to rotate cushions for longer wear but can't with these; they have velcro to keep them from slipping but it does not do a good job. I thought I would use the chaise more often but when you sit on it the end pops up. I wonder if I could order 1 cushion to remedy this concern? I plan to add more velcro to the cushions to help with what I find the most annoying. That being said, I really do like this couch. The armrest has plenty of padding. I use a pillow out of habit not because I need to. The couch is light enough to move without breaking your back. The frame is solid and withstands the wrestling of my husband and 70 lb dog. We like the couch. If I were to do it over again I would buy it again, without the chaise. Alll in all it was a good buy.”

I should have known the fabric would be different, the colors that I had to choose from were all different, yet I chose to purchase one anyway. The sofa had scuffs on the fabric underneath where it can’t be seen just by looking, but I think it had been already purchased and returned. The legs were very difficult to get on. On one corner it looked like someone has tried to mark the place to put the leg. The were no pilot holes so I had to make them myself. I almost gave up on the legs that came with it and thought about buying different ones, but ended up using the regular ones. I really wish I had had the time and mental energy to return it. The good thing is that it wasn’t expensive….I’ll use it a few years and then get another. But I will not be ordering from Ashley again.”

“I used to have a Darcy sofa set in 2009. This Darcy sofa was NOT the same. It is small and very hard. Not comfortable at all. The back pillows are now attached and cannot be removed for washing. The fabric feels almost as if it were plastic. I do not recommend. The return process was “ok” but I still haven’t received the full amount for this return yet.”

“This sofa arrived badly broken. The wooden arm inside the fabric is so broken it’s splintered & hanging mostly unattached. Ashley’s solution is to “repair” not replace…so I paid full price for what will be at best refurbished furniture.”

“I actually bought these couches used off Craigslist 5 years ago. I had them in an Airbnb for 4 years (pictured) and are now in my personal home. I LOVE these couches. They have literally been put through the wringer and are incredibly durable with heavy Airbnb guest use. Guests' kids and dogs have done ungodly things to these couches. The back cushions do not come off but the bottom ones have removeable covers that have been washed a thousand times (inside out) and are in great shape still. I have literally pulled these couches outside multiple times, soaked them with the water hose and scrubbed them with dish soap to clean chocolate and who the heck knows what else off these couches. Please note this was in Phoenix, AZ and they dried within hours in the heat. The couches still look new. These things are work horses and I will 100% be buying another set at some point. Only complaint is bottom cushions slide out with use. Tip: use a vacuum brush by itself to brush the couch after washing and use. It softens the fibers and makes it look clean.”
