Beautiful Recliner, Disappointing Experience

“I bought this recliner a little over a year ago. I was hoping I would finally get a recliner that would provide comfortable sitting and relaxing (I am 69 years old and severely disabled). Let me start by saying this is a very nice looking recliner.
The bottom section (seat) has a steel frame with the seat cushion suspended with a spring system. The back is basically a sheet of plywood with batting covered with fabric.
The seat sags and separates from the back support, making a space between the seat and back. This is a poor designed for a recliner.
The chair is a torture device that causes back and Beck pain. It is the worst recliner that I have purchased and thru the years I have had a few. I always seem to have the worst luck with Ashley furniture with cheap cushioning and framing. The fabric is sealed around the cushioning so there are not zippers to stuff in new material. It is basically a throw away recliner as "repair" would cost more than new and Ashley warranties (even the added protection) does not cover failed cushioning. I do not recommend this recliner.”

“The recliner is well constructed with the exception of the arm rests. They are soft on top but have a little popping round if you depress the curves. This is likely the material used to make the curve transitions on the wood and lilely normal with construction now. We had to straighten a few things in the steel work from shipping or assembly but not drastic.”

“Start it out with the recliner working perfectly then just under 2 years my recliner breaks and multiple places. No big deal because that's what the protection plan was for when I bought it. After being given the runaround and attempting to figure out the extremely complicated online process of creating a claim on it it was denied because I accidentally either put in the wrong date information and or their systems glitched out or whatever the case might be. All in all this chair is definitely not worth it as you would end up having to replace it after almost 2 years and the protection plan doesn't mean anything because they will void it out and do everything they can not to have to replace it”

“It lasted 30 minutes. I sat in and went to put the recliner down and it was hitting something and would not close. I immediately called and was told they had to send a service technician to look at it. He came a couple weeks later and said it was bent from the delivery but it had to be fixed and not replaced. It was a couple hours old and bent from delivery but they won't replace it. They ordered a whole new reclining mechanism for it. It will be here tomorrow and now I have to wait two more weeks to be fixed. So I waited 6 weeks to get it. Then it's junk and I have to wait 6 more weeks before it's fixed. I really think it should have been replaced. Over $800.00 and it's junk. I don't think I will order from Ashley furniture again!!”
