Disappointed with Product and Experience

“We purchased the Rannis Manual Rocker Recliner (Item 5360225) after testing it at the Tempe, AZ store, where the floor model was soft, supportive, and comfortable. The sales associate explained that testing products in the showroom is how Ashley justifies its restrictive return policy. What was delivered, however, was extremely firm and uncomfortable — not at all like what we tried. No one in our household is able to use it comfortably, making it unrealistic to ever “break in” like the store model may have been, or to know if it’s even made of the same materials.
Additionally, we were not offered a choice in delivery method other than Premium Delivery, for which we paid extra. The delivery team simply clicked two parts together in seconds, had me sign, and left. That added cost contributed no meaningful value.
This has been a disappointing experience that does not reflect what we were shown and led to believe. I’ve contacted Ashley requesting a full refund, as I don’t want a replacement or a different model. I truly expected a better customer experience and greater product consistency. I hope the company will respond appropriately, as this has left me uncertain about shopping with Ashley in the future.”
