“This is the most uncomfortable recliner we have ever owned. Nobody wants to recline in it. Sitting is okay for a short time, but the main purpose of a recliner is to be able to recline with your feet up. When the chair is open, after finally being able to get it open, you have to keep pushing the back down with your shoulders. I had a backache for two days just trying to keep the darn thing open during a movie. Then, good luck trying to get the footrest back down and locked into place. I usually have to stand up and push it back down. Even then it takes a few times to get this to lock. Believe the reviews. I hate to be that person, but this chair is AWFUL. It worked so much better and was so much more comfortable in the store. Oh--we also have the matching sofa. Still hard as a rock and mostly the dogs sit on it. The cushions slide out constantly even after putting gripper pad under them. Dog hair cleans up easily off of it. So does muddy paw prints. I'd give the couch a 3 out of 5. We are going on the 2nd year of having these pieces and they don't get any softer, folks. Currently saving up to get something new since everyone prefers to sit at the kitchen bar over these uncomfortable pieces of furniture. So glad I kept my comfy "Hogan Loveseat" we bought from Ashley over a decade ago when everyone tried to make me get rid of it. Still my favorite piece of furniture in the living room. The Hogan is everyone else's favorite too, because it's the only one we sit on.”

It doesn't swivel, but it does rock. I don't have mine parallel to the wall, as you can see from the pic, but at an angle and it doesn't hit/touch the wall when reclined. I'm not sure why the pics are sideways and upside down b/c I inserted pics that were the correct orientation. Had the same problem with the pics of the sectional - no idea what the problem is but I'm done spending time on this. Great piece.”

“I just received my recliner a few days ago and I love it. I live in an area with no Ashley store so I made the decision to try an online purchase of this recliner and matching sofa. I wasn't sure if that was the best idea, but the price was good and I absolutely loved the style. I was aware that the color was a fairly light grey, even though it says in description it is a steel grey I think it runs lighter. Also according to the reviews the recliner ran small. I wanted a smaller recliner because I am short and I really dislike the big bulky recliners due to the fact that because I am short they put a strain on my neck area. Even though the grey on this recliner and matching sofa was lighter, since my children are grown I wasn't concerned about it getting or showing dirt. I do plan to cover the arms, where you would be rubbing them as you get up and down from the chair, with a matching cloth just to keep body oils from discoloring the fabric and to help with wear marks. I would cover the arms of any other chair I purchased for the same reason no matter what color fabric. I choose a fabric recliner and sofa because I have animals and leather isn't the best option with a cat. The recliner has pocketed coils which are very comfortable and were another reason I choose this style. I am giving the recliner a 4 star only because of the reclining mechanism itself. I have two small dogs and when the chair is in a recline position and they jump up to get into the chair with me it causes the recliner to go from recline into normal position. I am also not able to fully close the chair with my legs when I get out. I have to get out of the recliner and then manually close it until I hear the click. I am hoping that these issues are due to the fact that the chair is new and still tight. I actually don't mind either issue enough to wish I hadn't made the purchase because this is a very nice comfortable chair and I believe it will hold up for many years. The reason I am not able to close the chair fully might also be that because I am shorter I don't have the strength in my legs to fully push it closed. Overall this is a beautiful and very comfortable recliner and so far I have no regrets.”
