So close...yet so far.

“The Manfort Recliner I ordered was out of stock so the store rep put me into a higher quality chair for the same price that the Manfort would have cost. That chair being the Capehorn Manual Rocker Recliner.
The Capehorn is one of the most comfortable chairs ever. It is very large in size and very comfortable. The reason for only giving it a 3 star rating is because of the fact that the recliner pull tab does not work over 1/2 the time and I am forced to fight with the chair to get it into reclined position. Also; the chair is built for someone over 6ft tall. A short person without much strength would have a very hard time getting the chair out of recline position. The mechanical design of the chair is very unevolved and very hard to work with.
Ease of operation of the chair is non existent. The only reason I am keeping it is because it is so comfortable once I manage to get it into reclined position. Replacing it would be more trouble than it is worth.”

“seat is very, very hard. can't sit in it for more than an hour, hurts my tailbone. the floor model was really comfy. hopefully it will soften up, it is also harder to push back. floor model would go back with a touch of a finger.....looks good though but that doesn't help if i can't sit in it.”

“The reason I bought these recliners is it because they provide neck & head support, so that when you lay you head back to watch TV, you aren't looking at the ceiling. All the others have backs that are too short for me and I'm only 5 foot 10 inches. The average American is 5'9". The new batch of these chairs have backs that are a couple/few inches SHORTER. When you lay your head back to watch TV, you are looking at the ceiling.
When your product is selling fast, why change the dimensions and lose your customers? Are the manufacturers making chairs only for short and medium height people, just to save a few pennies and be able to ship them in smaller boxes? I tried to return them, but was told by an employee "we don't return anything." After talking to a manager, it seemingly would almost require an act of Congress to return anything. I won't be buying anything from Ashley in the future.
95% of recliners and loveseats are electric, which are more expensive and very heavy (hard to lift upstairs without risk of injury). Also, the foot rests go up and down real slowly. If you return to making more Manual recliners, they will sell fast. Baby boomers and Gen X grew up with manual. We are the ones who can afford to buy furniture. When furniture starts being made in America again, they won't be designed for little Asian people.”

“Delivery was very smooth and quick. I love upstairs and the guys were able to get it up with no problem. As for the chair itself, it is probably the most uncomfortable reclining chair I’ve ever been in. The padding on the foot rest is very thin. When I’m sitting straight in the chair without reclining my neck starts to hurt bc of how straight the back rest is. If your looking for a comfortable chair this is not the one.”
