After having that kind of longevity, we didnt want to risk switching to another brand. The Luxe Adapt is absolutely incredible, and the best mattress I have ever slept on. I was beginning to have back pain and hip pain- likely because our old mattress had long past it's prime- and noticed an immediate difference once we got the Luxe Adapt. We also bought the ergo power base, which also fit inside our wooden bed frame with no issues at all. We also own a few sleep number beds in the house, and hands-down I reccomend buying the Luxe Adapt over them any day of the week. ”

After three returned mattresses, I went to a physical store, and got fitted for a super soft mattress. Laid on a few, then randomly laid on the LuxeAdapt Soft. Done deal, here's my card. I no longer dread going to bed to wake up in pain with those other mattresses. This was more than I wanted to spend, BUT worth every penny! I now look forward to going to bed. More Comfortable Than You'd Think

“Our previous 30 year old mattress was still in good shape, with no permanent indentations. Needless to say, we had high expectations when shopping for its replacement. After one go around with a traditional mattress that didn't meet our expectations, we decided to try a TEMPUR-LuxeAdapt. The one original turnoff was that if you toss and turn, it takes a few seconds for the mattress to adapt to the new position which feels odd. Plus we were concerned with longevity. We decided to go with Firm in hopes that the firmness would lessen premature permanent indentations. We've had our mattress for a month now. When crawling into bed, it feels very firm, however, within seconds, your body slowly melts into the mattress. We have no regrets at this point. Time will tell. We also purchased a Tempurpedic Pillow, which I love, love, love. No more headaches in the morning. It cradles your neck and provides the perfect amount of firmness/cushion. I also ordered the travel size version online. ”

“We met Jose Sierra while he was working one the Mattress Firm booths at the Houston Livestock and Rodeo, he gave us alot of information about all of the products and what he thought would be good for us. I recently had 2 major back surgeries and was in alot of pain and struggled to get comfortable sleep. We purchased the LuxeAdapt Soft along with some pillows. Delivery was speedy and setup was great. We have referred several friends and family members to call Jose or visit there local Mattress Firm and tryout the beds for themselves. “I was not advised that it would not be as soft as the sample in the store until after the sale was finished. Then I was advised that it would be kind of firm when I received it and it would take a couple of weeks to "soften up" to my body with use. With 150+ lbs persons testing the mattress in the store for a year of course the store mattress would be soft. But with me being a light weight of 105 lbs.... mine will never get to the "soft" stage. I should have been told that PRIOR to the purchase. I have not been able to sleep through the entire night since I have had it. It is NOT SOFT as labeled. Very disappointed and misrepresented. I only recommend it to heavier bodies, even then I would be skeptic. Receipt was tri-folded, placed in a "pocket" and handed to me. I looked at it when I got home and the warranty page is in spanish and I do not speak spanish.”

Gave me extreme back pain

I hoped that this would be a great mattress for my back, but I have had extreme back pain due to the breaking in process and now that the mattress is broken in, I am still having back and neck issues. I even thought maybe it was the pillows so I spent $700 on different pillows (and that's on BOGO- so $1400 retail) believing that could be part of it. Now I am stuck with all of the money for adjustable bed and mattress and pillows. I am counting down the days so I can return it for a different model because I still am happy with the great customer service. They have told me I could try another model and if that doesn't work then they would refund the money. I'm cautiously optimistic, but can't give a good review until I know how this will play out. All I can say now is that a bed that I bought to reduce back pain has put me in more back pain than I have had in 13 years.”

“We bought this mattress to replace a Tempur Pedic we owned for 15 years and loved. Knowing we'd have the new one for another 15, we wanted one of their best mattresses. Spending 1/2 hour at the showroom to test ending up being completely inadequate. This particular mattress is so soft that your body slowly sinks over time eventually creating an indentation like a hole that you then have try to roll out of when you want to shift position. This did not happen when we were testing because we didn't stay in the bed long enough. In addition, the mattress runs hot, much hotter that the original. The mattress is supposed to have cooling material, but whatever it is it doesn't work. My wife, who is always cold, also finds the bed uncomfortable. We just spent almost $5,000 on a mattress we both dislike. Unfortunately we're stuck. We contacted Customer Service for options, but Tempur Pedic has no trial period, and will do nothing to help, so once bought that's it. This now explains why there are so many recently purchased used mattresses for sale. We bought this mattress without testing other brands, many which have sleep trial periods. This was a very expensive and painful lesson.”

Unfortunately, after a few nights, I felt annoyed that when I wanted to change positions, I felt like I needed to hike myself out of a ‘gully’ (the imprint of where my body was). This made me wonder if I should change firmness levels. After a few months, I paid to have a medium mattress of the same quality shipped to me. I have regrets. :-( The medium is so hard compared to this soft and although I no longer have to hike out of the imprint, I am not sleeping as well. Wish there was something between the 2. “I overall love this mattress. I returned two others over the span of seven months because they were sagging from the outset. By the time this one came, I was expecting some new horror to befall me. Honestly, after the first few weeks of getting used to a Tempur mattress, I absolutely love it. It is generally perfectly supportive, and I sleep really well in it. My only caveat is that when the weather heats up it softens and loses support. I much prefer this mattress in colder weather (like right now). There was a moment where I was about to return it because I thought it was too soft, but with the chillier weather it is perfect. Just make sure you account for the softening of the foams in warmer climates, because it then becomes kind of a different mattress. It loses the wonderful dense marshmallow feel I love, and gets a bit mushy and sinky. For a hot minute, I thought i might change to the LuxeBreeze, but I've decided to stick with this one, as I am presently loving it. Another word of advice: if you are very overweight or anywhere near 200 pounds these mattresses may not be right for you. I know the salespeople argue otherwise, but in my experience these mattresses are best for people with close to normal BMIs.”

“TLDR; This mattress is a hard no for me. If you have a sensitive back like me, try the hybrid medium model first. For context, I am a 33 yr old female, 5'4, 140lbs. I sleep best on firm mattresses as I have chronic back pain and need the support. My husband and I had a cheaper memory foam and had to toss it after 4 years because of the sag (and expired warrenty). We weren't ready to drop a small fortune on a better quality mattress at that time, so we slept on a full, medium firm Sterns & Foster spring mattress that we already had, for about a year. Comfort wise, it relieved a lot of low back pressure, but it was not a long term solution. Fast forward to this April, we were finally in a position to cash flow something nice nice. I laid on just about every bed in the store that had a 10+ year warranty and after multiple visits it came down to the ProAdapt vs. the Luxe Adapt, both in firm. I went with the LA, obviously. It was delivered the next day and I was fully prepared to experience extra firmness during the "break in" period, but expected it to soften up a bit and give me the relief I was desperate for. When I tell you my back was on fire after 3 nights... It was unbearable. I'm a stay at home mom to 3 special needs kids. When it comes to sleep I am not here to play. I also see a chiropractor twice a week, eat right, exercise, and give myself at least 9 hours a night to sleep. Our family tent camps regularly and I slept better on a high quality 3 inch mattress pad on the ground than I did on the Luxe Adapt firm. The store I purchased from required us to keep the mattress for 30 days and offered an exchange for up to 100 days. Needless to say, on day 30 I went back to the store in search of something else. I considered going the springs route, but we already spent a weeks vacation worth of money and needed to find something comparable, so we stuck with memory foam. We chose the Luxe Adapt HYBRID MEDIUM and I anxiously and cautiously waited for its delivery a week later. We have had this new mattress for a week and I literally forgot what actual sleep felt like until now. I'm sleeping SO DEEPLY my early rising - podcast listening - shirt ironing 5ft away from the bed - husband doesn't even wake me up now. The dogs don't wake me up either (maybe they're sleeping better too). My chiropractor has noticed a difference in my spine after ONE WEEK. Thank you, Jesus. Do yourself a favor and do not buy the Luxe Adapt firm. The End.”

Getting off the mattress required rocking back and forth with my legs in the air until enough momentum was generated to get my legs over the side. Rolling from one side to the other while on the bed was a joke. I would have to make a slight roll to my stomach then push up and off the mattress with my arms to flip over. It was like sleeping in a trench. As soon as I switched back to my old mattress my si joint pain was gone. Absolutely horrible! The warranty process is a joke. All they want is pictures. Pictures won't show how soft the mattress is, you have to lay on it and feel it. There are many reviews that say the same thing. “Overall I love this bed. It does seem that I have to be near the middle to not get the feeling I may slide out ( it’s a split king. When you raise the head you slide down and you feet dangle over the end ( I’m 5’4). Some kind of pull out at the foot would be nice. Not one backache- the adjustability can make it perfect for your body. Be careful of the pillows : the ones we bought in the store are soft and pliable, the perfect pillow. The ones we got with the online deal with purchase were supposed to be the same but are three times as thick and hard as a rock- must weigh 5 lbs. we called the store and the person that helped us with our bed purchase, went out of her way to see we got two of the ones we love. The split is a mixed blessing. It’s wonderful to adjust each side like you want but it opens a crack in the middle and things ( including our small dog) have fallen through. I’d still take it over a bed with one adjustment all the across. No need for a topper on this bed like we had for our cloud lux. This was comfy from day one, doesn’t sleep hot either. Almost the perfect bed.”

“I weigh 125 my husband 200. When we tried it at the store it felt firm but of course come to find out the stores mattress was 2 years old. When we got ours home is was hard as a rock. On the second day we looked at each other and we're regretting it. We called for an exchange and salesman told us we needed to sleep on it for one month at least. Well we can't cuz it's like sleeping on the floor. They should have looked at my weight and immediately should have said this mattress was not going to work for me because of my weight. Sent without off gassing first

“This product made me very sick as well as my dog was gagging. It was sent without off gassing time in the warehouse. It has taken over a month for the off gassing to be exhausted from it. I had to use air purifiers, keep the window open and close the bedroom door including putting a towel at the bottom of the door to keep the gasses from passing through the rest of the house. I am immunocompromised and experienced respiratory distress from it. I have been sleeping on an air mattress while waiting to be able to use the product. “They advertise this mattress as offering pressure relief. However, before I lie down I have absolutely no back or side pain and when I wake up I have a lot of pain in the sides of my back. I suspect this is due to my hips sinking into the mattress a lot more than my chest and shoulders - leaving my back in a crooked position (I'm a side sleeper). It takes anywhere from 1-3 hours after leaving the mattress and going about my day for the back / side pain to dissipate. I want to reach out to Tempur Pedic since I'm not at all satisfied with the lack of proper support, but they require a phone with service (which isn't always an option for me) to call them even though my email works just fine.”

When I contacted Support, they indicated you had to measure from the widest part of mattress with cover and zipper, then they allow 1/2 inch on both sides to be short, and then allow another inch to be short. My mattress was 3" less/shorter long than advertised, 1" shorter width, and 1" less deep. Customer support indicated this was acceptable. Had I known the mattress is 3" shorter than advertised, I would have ordered the California King, which is supposedly 4" longer. So with the Cal. King, I would have gotten the normal length plus 1". Not happy how they deceive on measurements. Label indicates 80x38x13; and I got 77x37x12 (which they claim is acceptable).”

The Odor

“I waited to make this review to allow time to change my mind. My complaint isn't the mattress, its the odor that comes from it. The first night we slept on it I had to go sleep in the guest room. The fumes that came from it were more than I could tolerate. Next night my husband joined me. For three days, we set our mattresses out on saw horses outside to hopefully help with the odor. After those three days, we put them on the frame without any bedding and I opened the window and put a fan on them all day. We continued to sleep in the guest room. After about 10 days, I made up the bed and we slept in it. I am a side sleeper so that puts my face closer to the mattress. My husband sleeps on his back so it wasn't as bothersome to him. Although I enjoy the mattress and enjoy the feel and comfort of it and all that the it does with our special frame, I wouldn't be able to recommend it. I do have a very sensitive sense of smell, but this odor was over the top.”

Within 3 months the bed sags but Temouroedic tells me it is not warranted. I find that the Tempurpedic has the shortest trial period, many exceptions to the warranty and no concern for their customers' sleep. The bed is way too expensive with little recourse for resolution if it is a defective mattress within months of purchase. I highly regret my purchase and feel robbed. “I can sleep on my bad shoulder with no problems. My complaints are minor, mainly that our heated mattress cover was deemed not appropriate so we have to get into a cold bed now. Also, the material that covers the mattress is very slick, so I find that the sheets come off the corners if you aren't careful about getting into bed. The Tempurpedic sheets have a strap under each corner that helps, but a tiny bit more friction would help keep the sheets in place. Ah, and very expensive. But for back pain, shoulder pain, sleep partners who move a lot, and a cooler temperature than cheaper memory foam mattresses, it may be worth it.”

I got the Soft, and it's still hard but less than when I first got it. I hope it gets better. As of now, it's still not very comfortable, especially when I lie on my side. That being said, the motion isolation is unparalleled. While I toss and turn because of how hard the mattress still is, my dog sleeps well. With my old mattress, I used to constantly wake him with my tossing and turning. He would get upset with me and sleep elsewhere when it got bad. With this mattress, he sleeps through the night, unperturbed by my pain and restlessness. I highly recommend the tempur-adapt to anyone with a pet who is a light sleeper.”

Great for side sleepers

“The bed works wonder for my hips. No more waking up in pain. It's hard to get up out of the bed thought because it does sink in and shapes to your body's form. This makes it a bit hard to just roll out of bed. My only gripe is that the base squeaks and creaks when I turn over or move. A brand new bed and base should not be making any noise when I move around. Did the delivery guys assemble it correctly? Did they miss a screw or something. The bed should not be creaking as if it were an old bed used for years. I've only had it a few months. What gives? This is unacceptable for a brand new bed and base. “We were very excited about the cooling that the luxe adapt had when we tried it In The store but when we got it delivered and put the mattress protector on we couldn't feel any cooling whatsoever so we took the protector off and just slept with the fitted sheet over the mattress but still could not feel the cooling affect. Very very disappointed that we spent so much on this mattress that touted cooling and we don't get that at all. My fitness watch tracks my body temperature at night and there has been no difference with the luxe adapt which is supposed to allow you to sleep 5 degrees cooler. So while the bed is comfortable I would no way spend the amount of money we did when there are plenty of good memory foam beds out there for less.”

I now wake up in the middle of the night sweating-the mattress gets really warm or my heat transfers-whichever is the case it's not ideal. I also feel it's not as substantive as my old mattress the depth is much shorter. I do enjoy the molding of the mattress to the contours of my body, and that feels sturdy and supported. There does feel like a difference between the edge and the center of the bed-I am an edge sleeper and that feeling of the possibility of rolling off is present. Unfortunately, I am regretting getting rid of my old mattress.”

“Changed from a medium firm mattress to this soft tempurpedic. 90 days was not enough time. We moved and were so busy we hadn't actually paid attention to the bed we slept on. Initially it was comfortable and each night getting used to melting into our bed. It was hard to get out of in the middle of the night. It wasn't until we got used to all of that that we knew it was this bed making our backs worse. We knew after a year and it was too late to exchange it for a firm. I've spoken with tempurpedic and there is nothing they recommend to firm it up and offered no options. My lower back hurts so bad each morning it's hard to move. I often sleep on my couch or floor. I think my lumbar sinks too much into the super soft bed and creates a curve that hurts the longer I am in it. I am 135 pounds, not a heavy person at all. I think it's Just the material being too soft that it doesn't actually keep your spine straight. I would have loved to exchange it for a firm had I known soon enough. Again, 90 days isn't enough time when you are switching to a completely different bed material. For now we continue to suffer and hopefully can afford a new mattress sooner than later.”

“We recently purchased a new TEMPUR-LuxeAdapt Soft, and it is nice/comfortable, however, we really like our 10yr-old TEMPUR-Cloud Luxe much better. The older mattress has much better support around the edges. It seems that if you don't sleep in the very center of the new mattress, you'll slide of the bed due to the edges collapsing under your weight. (And neither myself nor my wife are heavy) We considered exchanging our new TEMPUR-LuxeAdapt for another model, but from reading many, many reviews, it seems there isn't currently any other model that would be any better. In my opinion, quality has gone down over the years, while prices have gone up slightly. We'll keep this new one, but it sure is a lot of money to spend on something that isn't absolutely 100% perfect.”

Our New Split King - The Poltergeist Twins ##!!??..

“After almost 13 years, we replaced our much loved Tempur-Pedic Deluxe King mattress. Placing our direct Tempur-Pedic Split King purchase was quick & easy. Everything after was like Rosemary's delivery! Yeah, every element of this bed's delivery was difficult - their botched 'White Glove Delivery', different height twin mattresses, bed bases that didn't support their 'smart' sleep application, which failed with 'unexpected errors'. Their initial delivery was twin mattresses that were 13 & 11 inches high. This 2 inch difference was both uncomfortable and looked very weird. Their second delivery was 2 twin mattresses that measured only 12 inches high. Tempur-Pedic sells a 12" mattress for $hundreds less that what we paid, so those 12 inch beds were also returned. Their third delivery was a single 12 1/2 inch mattress that we accepted. It's 'close enough' to the 13" mattress we had and after months of hassle, we're simply trying to move on... We will say this mattress' firmness and plush top is comfy and sleep well for us side-sleepers. If interested, we'll post more on their delivery, bases and 'smart' application in our base review.”

After 3 weeks of feeling every single movement and losing too much sleep my husband and I decided to go with a split king luxe adapt and haven't regretted anything at all about this mattress. I went with The Luxeadapt soft and my husband went with the firm and we both love how well we've been sleeping. The luxeadapt soft is Seriously heavenly, I just can't even explain it. The only adjustment for us is getting used to having the split king - my husband says he feels to "confined" (but that's because he was a bed hog before) but for me, It has changed how I sleep and I would never go back to a regular king bed. Also the adjustable base is a game changer too! I can't imagine how anyone would be disappointed with this mattress!”

I decided to upgrade the size of my bed and was told the luxe adapt soft would be closest to my current model, that could not have been further from the truth the model I had been sleeping on for five years has a high density foam with a cloud-like feeling on top this new luxe adapt soft has an APR foam that does not even compare I am 5'1 weigh 115 lb and suffered extreme back pain, neck pain, hip pain from this luxe adapt soft. Tempur-Pedic was absolutely wonderful in assisting me with an exchange, that being said it took about a month to get the new mattress 'Tempur-Pedic cloud luxe breeze" a now discontinued model this mattress came with a giant stain all the way across the mattress as I had nothing to sleep on I asked the delivery guy to leave the mattress anyway and I would attempt to clean the mattress and was told to contact tempurpedic as they may have offered more assistance to me I could not bear to go through any more waiting or adding to the 14 calls to the retention center in regards to my exchange that I had already made . I chose to wash the mattress top using stain remover and was able to nearly remove all of the stain. The reason I chose to do this is that I was told tempurpedic had no more of this model in stock. I only wish that this was not such a painstaking thing. And that my purchase of my new Tempur-Pedic would have gone much much smoother.”

After trying several different Tempur-Pedic pillows with no improvement, I realized it was the mattress that was the issue. Customer Service said that from the pictures submitted of the mattress there did not appear to be a defect covered by the warranty. Because of the firmness and temperature retention, we purchased an $800 wool topper and have found little relief. As for the warranty process, it took almost 6 months to receive a replacement for our previous tempurpedic, which was less then 5 years old and cracking quite badly in a couple of areas, and we only received the replacement after countless calls and emails with a variety of people. Overall, this has been a terrible experience. This mattress is already being replaced (after about 6 weeks) by a competitor with more cost effective options and a better warranty…tempurpedic has lost a customer.”

That claim too was denied for the same reason. I could have paid $175 to exchange the mattress but I felt that was punitive and didn't do it. “This mattress is not for side sleepers. I am a 29-year-old and have never experienced hip pain until I slept on this mattress. It also does not work well for people who like to sleep in a cold room. I think that when salespeople are pushing people to purchase this mattress (pressuring, actually) they should take into consideration the way they sleep. I tried to return my mattress (Ashley Furniture) and was told to sleep with the heat on, crawl and jump on my mattress, etc. in order for it to become something I can look forward to lay on at night. I lost thousands of dollars and learned a valuable lesson about sales pressure, but my experience has not been good at all. I do not recommend this mattress. It caused countless painful mornings/days and sleepless nights.”

“Having owned and liked a smaller Tempur-Pedic mattress as a bachelor, my wife and I decided to splurge on a king size mattress when got married, and I strongly steered her toward Tempur-Pedic. We settled on the Luxe Adapt, and as side sleepers, the salesperson steered us from the medium to the soft. Holding still for 10 minutes on the mattress in the showroom, it seemed okay. As a new couple in our 50s, we were consolidating two houses in two states, so we didn't have a chance to experience it together with any regularity for a few months; her should-have-been-quick house sale was severely hampered with the outbreak of the world's Covid-19 situation. While I was sleeping on it alone during that time, I noticed it was hot, and took a great deal of effort to turn during the night and get out of bed in the morning. I wasn't sleeping through the night. I thought I just needed to "get used to it," but should have returned it then. After my wife and I were under one roof and sharing the bed, the Tempur-Pedic's shortcomings were magnified: When we tried to cuddle, the mattress formed a "trench" that we felt stuck in, like two people in a narrow hammock. My wife found it extremely difficult to get out of, regardless of the several height adjustments I tried on the frame, and she started referring to it as "The quicksand bed." The heat problem was significantly worse, and we were both up several time during the night unable to get comfortable. She would ask, "why does one have to wake up and make a conscious exertion just to turn over on this mattress?" We tried to exchange it, but the store said it was now past the trial period, and there was nothing they could do. Also, the manufacturer's website clearly states that if the mattress was purchased at a retailer, that the retailer's exchange policy is binding. The morning my wife said she almost left in the middle of the night to go check into a hotel to get a better night's sleep, I knew I had to replace it with another brand. I has changed my life. I haven't had a good night's sleep in six months, it has even stressed our marriage, and because I have to buy yet another mattress, it's drained my wallet. Now, I'm flushing thousands of dollars away since I can't even give this costly Tempur-Pedic to a charity as a tax deduction, and no one will buy it second hand, even though it's less than a year old, because of the pandemic. I would absolutely NOT recommend this mattress.”

I purchased a Temper-LuxeAdapt Soft mattress (along with the pillows, ERGO adjustable base and mattress cover) from a retailer in Waxahachie, Texas. After the first night I called and complained that I was not satisfied because my wife and I both woke up the next morning hurting all over from sleeping on this mattress. I was told I had to keep it for 30 days before they would do anything about it and I thought the whole 30 days they would stand behind their satisfaction guarantee but was I ever wrong. The mattress has not gotten any better and now after the 30 days are up I am told by the retailer that the only thing Tempur-Pedic will do is replace it with another mattress just like it (if I am not satisfied with the one I have what makes them think I will be satisfied with another one just like it) so just want to say I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER TEMPUR-PEDIC PRODUCT (AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU) AND I WILL NEVER SHOP WITH THE RETAILER IN WAXAHACHIE, TEXAS EVER. Searched, decided, ordered, delivered--flawless!

“We needed to replace our original Tempurpedic mattress, which was "aging out." We spent a lot of time reading reviews of the increased number of options offered by Tempurpedic and were worried about which product would most closely resemble the original. Deciding that we needed to actually spent time lying on them, we called the nearest Flagship store in Brookfield Wisconsin. Good decision! Rene, who has worked there for 14 years, was willing to spend a LOT of time on the phone with us, patiently listening to our requirements and concerns. After digesting her input and thinking it over, we realized that we did not really need to drive the 250 miles to the store, but instead could just place the order by phone with Rene. She took care of every detail, including followup to see if we were totally satisfied. Based on her careful listening, we ordered a Topper-Supreme for our current/old Tempurpedic mattress, had the delivery service move that setup to the guest room, and replaced it with a TEMPUR-LuxeAdapt Firm. The sleep of these two nearing-80-year-olds improved immediately. We wish we had done it sooner. I want to add that when we discussed a possible visit to the store with Rene, she described in detail the Covid precautions they take, including private appointments and long list of cleaning/sanitation details. We would not have hesitated to make an in-person visit. Overall: a good experience and a great (if pricey!) mattress.”

Soft - not so much!

“I have had a CA King TEMPUR-LUXEADAPT SOFT MATT for 12 months now, along with the split TEMPUR-ERGO EXTEND ADJUSTABLE BASES. Purchased on December 23, 2021, and delivered on December 31, 2021. As a retired military officer and disabled veteran who suffers from ongoing chronic pain and multiple musculoskeletal injuries, I decided to try this mattress and spent over $8,000 on it. I thought I would add it to my pain management plan of pilates, physical therapy, acupuncture, chiropractor, and massage therapy. CON: So far, I am disappointed in my "soft mattress." The mattress is substantially firm vs. soft! I have a hard time sleeping on this mattress due to the firmness. I prefer soft beds and am considering adding a topper to this mattress. My wife is concerned that at 13", we could not find any sheets to fit with a mattress topper. PLUS: The adjustable base is a very nice feature. Mainly for reading and watching TV. As I sleep on my stomach or side, you can only have the bed slightly elevated. If you're a back sleeper, this is the adjustable base to have. Looking back, I wish TP still carried the cloud-soft mattress. I'm now considering giving this mattress to my son and going for a different mattress. Buyers beware, if you really like soft mattresses, TP does not currently make a mattress that is soft.”

“We have 2 Twin XL and after approximately 7 years the firmness has turned to pudding. After reading the reviews there is no reason to file a warranty claim with Tempur. All claims seem to be that the mattress are suppose to soften. Has anyone else had this problem. Are there enough claims to start a class action. Mine is the LuxeAdapt but I can't remember which model I bought. I am going today to buy new mattress. I thought they would have lasted 10 years as what the warranty was for. My wife weights 110 lbs and I weight 170 lbs. Weight hasn't being the reason !”

Unhappy with Performance

“We loved our Tempurpedic the first 8 or so months! Unfortunately, our body shapes have caused a depression on both sides of our bed and we have now had the mattress a little over a year. We are not heavy, so we did not expect this. The depressions are only noticeable when we lie down at night. I sink down into the mattress nicely, but I cannot comfortably roll to the middle if I want to roll that direction. The mattress contents are bulking toward the middle and it is not comfortable. Taking pictures will not help, since the indention APPEARS minimal visually. However, the depression is very real at night, and it is like climbing a small mountain to get to the middle. We have tried walking our knees across the middle of the mattress to spread the buildup evenly across the mattress. In a couple of days, we are back in the valley again. I have reached out to the retail store, and they kindly sent me to Tempur-pedic. At that point of contact, I cannot capture pictures to reflect the required indentions. The true story could realistically be confirmed if someone wanted to try to sleep on our mattress. I am disappointed that what should have lasted more than 8 months did not.”

Sheets slide off the mattress protector, sheets are overpriced and NOT as described. They are not soft nor moisture wicking at all. Wanted to return pillow on delivery, never opened...but they WILL NOT ALLOW ANY RETURNS. I've spent over 6k and don't sleep through the night.”

The other mattress feels like there is a ridge in the middle that runs lengthwise. I cannot feel it with my hand, but when I lie down and move over I can feel the ridge. I have to get over the ridge to get onto the other half of the mattress which feels more firm than the other half.”

Helped with chronic low back pain

“This is the fourth mattress I've tried since getting chronic low back pain about six years ago (I tried two spring mattresses and most recently the Purple mattress). For the first time in six years, I don't wake up super stiff and with low back pain every morning. Throughout the day my low back pain has greatly diminished. I also use a 7 inch foam wedge to prop my legs up and take extra stress off my low back (I try to sleep mostly on my back). I do wake up between 1am and 4am to turn onto my side still when my low back starts to get a little achy. I also lay a heated blanked on the bed to pre-heat it in the winter, and run a space heater in the room to warm it up so it gets softer. So far this is the best mattress I've found for me. My spine has a dramatic lumbar curve to it so I got the firmest mattress for extra lumbar support. I've had the mattress for about a month and it seems to be getting better the more I break it in.”

“I had been suffering from a annoying back pain on and off for the past 5+ years. I decided to depart from my old spring loaded mattress (10+yrs) and change it to something more modern and hopefully more comfortable mattress. I purchased LuxAdapt; firm option. Paid ~ $3000+. After receiving the mattress I was looking forward to my first night of sleep on the new bed. My initial reaction to the new bed was a mixed bag, did not really know how to react, maybe i was little disappointed. I even thought that i had made a $3K mistake. The bed felt strange. In fact, it did not feel anything like the mattress i had tried in the store. The good news is that i had this 90 day trial period and i could return it for full refund or select something else. I thought, why not give a try for few more weeks of try before i do anything else. I am glad that i did. After 3 weeks and few 180 rotations, the bed started getting more and more comfortable. After about 5 weeks, all my back pain had disappeared. ....i was still a bit skeptical. To make a long story short. After 2 months of use, i am sleeping better and better every day. I feel more rested than i ever did in the past 10 yrs. This bed has improved the quality of my life. My recommendation. This mattress is worth every penny. Make sure that you purchase the mattress from a store that will either give your money back 100% or allows you to switch the mattress to something else in case it doesn't work for you.”

“We enjoyed the support and feel of this mattress for the first year or so, but recently (12-15months of ownership) the middle has become way too soft, and both my wife an I are suffering hip and back pain. Customer service is taking the position that it is not failing, so were stuck with it.. Thus I see this as a failure of both the product and of Tempur's commitment to customer service. Buyer beware. And to be clear, we absolutely, 100% loved our previous Tempur mattress (no longer available Choice lux King), and had recommended Tempur to our friends countless times. What a shame.”

Great for a month

“The bed was great for a month, after about 30 days my side completely broke down and I was laying in a hole. I am about 225 pounds and my wife is about 115. Her side had barely broken in. The last few nights we had the bed we had to switch sides because I was waking up with extreme pain. This is the second Tempur-pedic mattress that we tried and had similar experiences on both. While it was extremely comfortable in the beginning, For the price of these beds, they do not hold up like they should. They will not get another chance from me.”

“It's been five weeks since we took delivery of the Tempur Luxe Adapt, soft king mattress and we have yet to get a full night of sleep because the mattress has such poor circulation that it stores our body heat. After 2-4 hours we keep waking out of our sleep uncomfortably warm. This mattress does sleep hot which is frustrating and has become a big issue, I'm feeling sleep deprived. Getting decent restful sleep is fundament to our health. We keep getting the run around so now we want to return it but no support from Tempur-Pedic. So far, Tempur-Pedic is not standing by its product guarantee! It has poor circulation so it stores your body heat. The materials/memory foam gets very warm while sleeping causing it to sleep hot which is very uncomfortable...”

“We are currently working on a warranty return due to a sag in this firm luxe adapt... but I will tell you even without the sag it is way too soft. If you have ANY lower back issues, this is not he best bed. I have woken up every morning for the past several months with what feels like ribs out of place. Chiropractic visits don't help long because when I wake back up in the morning my back is messed up again. My husband had a queen medium contour and I have a queen medium tempurpedic that was on the softer side with a cushiony-foam top- both of those beds are in our guest bedrooms since getting married and both are MUCH firmer than this bed. We've just now had this bed one year and with the softness of it already we know it would only get worse. This firm is not firm!!! I am actually thankful to have had a sag so we can utilize the warranty to hopefully get a medium regular adapt or something that is actually supportive. :--( I gave it 3 stars only because I swear by tempurpedic brand.. just not this bed.”

Softened up quickly, causing back pain

“We did a warranty claim on our old tempur pedic and after trying all the models in the store we settled on the lux adapt firm. Unfortunately, this bed softened up so much within a month that it causes me lower back pain every time I use it. I'm unable to stomach sleep without waking up with intense pain and get lesser pain from side and back sleeping. I often sleep in our guest room on another brand if I know I need a good nights sleep. Unfortunately, by making a warranty claim, we sacrificed our ability to return the new bed. Hopefully this serves as a warning to all those considering using their warranty. I also wonder if I was given a bed with manufacturing defects because it is so drastically different from the store model and I had no option to return by making a warranty claim. We still spent over $3k out of pocket and it's a hugely disappointing expense that has worked out horribly.”

“I would give it 0 stars if I could. I purchased this mattress in the hopes it would help decrease low back pain. Not only does my back hurt worse now, but my hands and arms fall asleep and go numb every single night. This keeps me from sleeping well, due to waking up because of the numbness in my hands and arms. I first got the ProAdapt in the medium hybrid. It was as hard as a rock. I requested to trade it in, and paid more to upgrade to the LuxeAdapt. It honestly feels like sleeping on a park bench. It's soft at first, but within a few minutes, it feels like laying on a solid floor. So, now I've paid over $4000 for a mattress that is miserable. Do not waste your money!”

This is my third Tempurpedic, not because of any problems but because I sold my last king size bed with my house and gave my prior quean bed to my youngest son who had back problems. He loves his bed and I love my bed. The only issue I have had is the sheet slipping off when I use the ergo bed lift, so make sure you get sheets designed for a deep bed that you can secure under the mattress if possible. GREAT BED. When we slept on it, it was like we were sleeping in a hole and if you wanted to roll out of it it was like rolling up a hill. We could not get out of the hole and was stuck in one spot on the bed. Not a good buy for us. I would not but again. Thank goodness for Mancini's excellent return policy. We were able to return this mattress and get the mattress that most fits out needs.”

Miss the old style

“We had the Luxe Supreme Cloud and that was the perfect bed. We bought a new bedroom furniture set that did not come in the Cal King size so we bought the Luxe Adapt in King as we were told it replaced the Luxe Supreme. That is definitely not the case. The ADAPT has NO side support. If you sit on the side you will slide right off. The previous model was heavy, very substantial, the ADAPT is light not nearly as well constructed. Not sure why they made this much of a significate change with the pervious model was perfect. We ended up exchanging the ADAPT for another brand. The new bed has much better side support, I do miss the tempurpedic foam though. Since I am a side sleeper and sleep at the side of the bed, the ADAPT did not work for us. Wish you would go back to our old formula.”

“I was expecting something softer. Hopefully, after sleeping on it awhile, it will soften up. I have a HUGE suggestion! Please put the label with the serial number in a place where it is easily found, like under the mattress cover at the FOOT of the bed vs the upper left corner of the bed, where the mattress cover needs to be removed to find it. It is a huge inconvenience to have to wait until I change my sheets, remove my mattress protector, peel back the mattress cover & hunt for the label, just to find the serial number. I am older & I can't kneel & I have a bad neck, plus I have balance issues, so this is a huge problem for me to accomplish. I live alone & have nobody to help me with this.”

“We have had this mattress about 3 1/2 weeks now, the firm, and they are coming today to replace it with the medium soft. The firm for us was just way too firm. I have a full hip replacement and my husband has a bad back. We went back to the store and tried them out again and decided on the exchange. The salesman was very nice and helpful, both on the initial sale and the exchange. There was no pressure as to which one we picked. We just got it wrong for us. We do love the separate bases though. The presets for the various positions work very well. We have the split king.”

“I am still adapting to this mattress. It's our first Tempur-Pedic. Our previous mattress was very firm and uncomfortable so we wanted a soft mattress. This felt much softer in the store. The crazy thing is that it seems softer when I go to sleep in the evening but feels firmer by the morning. I am trying to be patient in the hopes that it will get softer with time. I still wake up and have joint stiffness and I was hoping to toss and turn less. It sleeps hot also. The one good thing is that there is very little to no motion transfer. I am going to give it at least another month before deciding if I am going to keep or not.”

“We bought our second Tempurpedic bed about 5 months ago on clearance. First problem is you cannot return clearance items so we are being taught a very expensive lesson to the tune of about $4grand. It is supposed to be soft, it is not. It is supposed to be cool, it is not. My wife has to use a memory foam pad because it is too hard. I am looking for either a fan system ($170) or a chill pad system. Wish we had gone with a much cheaper alternative. My advice, if you do buy one, make sure it is not clearance so you can return it if you are not happy with it. To Tempurpedic, please be a lot more clearly the consequences of buying a bed from the website on clearance. You actually do not save money if you do not like the bed. Won't be buying a third bed from Tempurpedic.”

I think it's because I sink thru the jell and am resting on the base layer. My wife is lighter and seems to float better. For the price (which is exorbitant), I would choose another model or firmness. Frankly, I've slept on WAY cheaper mattresses which were better suited for me. We have the middle-of-the-line adjustable base. It's very nice and works as advertised. If I had it to do over, I would have gone for the base model. The store automatically sold us this one without asking and we forgot while shopping. We thought about it later, but decided not to bother changing the order.”

I read tons of reviews and online comparisons to determine changes to the model lineup and to figure out which model would best suit our needs. I started to wonder if quality had gone downhill based on some reviews I read but after going to the store all of that faded away. If this has happened to you, fear not because if you're a Tempur-pedic owner you know how truly awesome they are. Our new Tempur Luxe Breeze Firm was delivered yesterday and last night I slept 10 hours without moving an inch. This was the first night and no break in period was necessary for me to sleep like a log. If you love your Tempur don't let negative reviews get into your head like I did. I've had multiple back surgeries and a great bed is a must to keep pain from wrecking your sleep. They still sell the top memory foam mattress available and the other bed-in-a-box brands aren't even in the same league. You will not be disappointed with the current available models as their quality is even better than before. I hope this helps those like me who might be experiencing doubts as they research the purchase of a new Tempur-Pedic.”

“First and foremost I would like to say this matress has been very helpful when it comes to pain relief. My shoulder doesn't hurt if I sleep on my side. My back has gotten a lot of relief as well. I feel it does a very good job at molding to my body. I did however go through a bit of a trial and error period with this mattress when it comes to sweating. I never had a problem sweating at night until I slept on this matress, I have since adjusted well and I no longer sweat. I Would recommend an alternate model for someone who sweats during the night on a regular mattress. Also to prevent any mold from accumulating on any mattress a complete zip mattress cover that keeps fluids out. I have heard of previous Tempur owners having issues with mold. That's normally due to the fact people sweat. The cover is best way to preserve the longevity of the mattress given what you pay for it. I still toss and turn during the night but not with as much frequency. I do feel that on the periods I am not active I get a much more restful sleep. That's also backed by data that I've tracked on my sleep tracker. I rate this mattress 3.5 stars based on what is given for the price. I do recommend this mattress.”

“We originally bought the inteli bed midnight and it softened up on us and Left me waking up feeling like I had boards in my back. We returned it and got this bed. I am used to sleeping on a cheap memory foam mattress and had high hopes this bed would be amazing for me. This mattress softens up SO much. We have had it for 3 months and it still is softening. It was pretty firm the first couple weeks and my back killed me. Then it got where it was just right and my back didn't really hurt when I woke up. And I had hope this would work. Then it's softened more and more and I wake up every morning with lower back pain. I want to love this bed because it's conforming and soft, but having a scoliosis it is just not the support I needed in a bed. Someone that doesn't have a bad back and loves memory foam mattresses would absolutely love this bed. I would say this bed is a medium not a firm, and not a medium firm. I passed the 90 period hoping I would get used to it but still haven't. I still love my old seally $700 memory foam bed best it gives me the support that this bed and the intelli bed doesn't. Overall would not suggest this bed if you struggle with chronic back pain I would suggest it if you don't have a bad back. I also would say the price on a bed does not mean it will be the end all answer to your pain. Just my opinion and experience so far.”

The bed sags far beyond what Tempurpedic says is normal softening and conforming. To submit a warranty claim you are required to submit a picture of the sag, which you can't do because the material snaps back when you get off the bed. The problem is that the material breaks in (9 months later) so much that it feels like you are sleeping in a crater. My wife and are both in good shape and not overweight. No More Pain

A few questions and we made our way to the tempurpedic section. I had in my mind that I wanted a soft mattress, it would be most like my waterbed. It turns out, after laying down on several styles, I took a liking to a firm bed. Hesitantly I purchased the mattress that was supposed to help my back pain due to my scoliosis. The first night was rough. After sleeping on a waterbed for 23 years it was hard to adjust to something different. Looking back after a month of sleeping on my new mattress. I wish I had changed sooner! My back pain is much less noticeable and I sleep soundly throughout the nights. There's no more tossing and turning in the night and I wake up refreshed. All I can say is WOW after the recent purchase of our second Tempur-Pedic. The number of choices and technology have advanced by light years over the original models. This time we chose the Luxe Adapt Firm split king with the Ergo Extend power adjustable base. The firm was perfect for both of us (we both felt it was closer to a medium-firm) and having the option to adjust our sides independently is fantastic. My spouse doesn't snore near as much and we are able to maintain better posture when reading or watching television. The massage feature creates a "white noise" that helps us to fall asleep even faster. I feel refreshed each morning when I get out of bed and don't have aches and pains. About the only thing we aren't excited about is the split between the two mattresses, but that's a sacrifice we were willing to make to gain the independence of being able to adjust our own side of the bed.”

“I am a huge Tempur-Pedic fan. In the past I have had a "classic" Tempur-Pedic King size mattress that I used and loved for so many years (approximately 17 years). Due to a change in my living situation I was forced to go to a split king bed. My side, of course, was a Tempur-Pedic twin XL and my husband's was a regular type of twin XL mattress. At the time we could only afford a floor model of the Rhapsody Breeze. After a few years of sleeping on this (and not liking it because it was too soft) and having to struggle with changing sheets on a split king, I decided to invest in the Luxe-Adapt Firm regular king mattress. I feel like I'm back on my classic king mattress! Oh, how I missed that firm support! From night one, I was extremely happy with this mattress. “Unlike our first tempur-pedic mattress, this one is not comfortable at all! It provided absolutely no support after just 2 months! We've now had this mattress for 5 months, we have called for warranty assistance twice both times to no avail. It feels like you are going to roll off the side of the bed and when you change positions the memory foam does not change with you so you lay on lumps until the mattress finally settles. Worst money we've ever spent and customer service will do nothing to help unless a broom stick across the mattress show a sag. There isn't a sag if no one is laying on it! My husband and I hate this mattress and wake up every morning with lower back pain. We loved our first tempur pedic. Quality clearly has gone down over the years as well as customer service. I will never buy another ever! Note this statement coming from a prior 15 year tempur pedic owner who wouldn't even consider buying another brand until burned this bad by this horrible product! I will never buy another!”

Now I Can Sleep in a Bed!

“For years, I've been unable to sleep through the night on a traditional bed. It didn't matter the mattress--hard, soft, in between, different manufacturers, different types--I would wake up after 2-3 hours in pain. Finally, I gave up, and just started sleeping in my recliner. I found that not being in a flat position allowed me to sleep through the night without pain. That led me to look for an adjustable bed. I liked the Tempurpedic, and purchased the split California King. I slept in it through the night every night since it was delivered--no pain, great sleep, the best in years! It's a lot of money, but worth every penny. I strongly recommend it!”

Misrepresentation of the 90 Day Try Out Guarantee

“I purchased a mattress from Tempur Pedic online thru their website during their 4th of July sales event. Their website stated that they have a "90 day Try Out" if you are unsatisfied with your mattress, they will refund or exchange it, therefore I felt confident buying a mattress online without testing it since I would not be stuck with such a large investment if I was unhappy with it. After the first few nights, I thought the mattress was too firm for me, so I called and asked to have the same mattress exchanged for the soft version since I purchased the firm version. I was told at that point that they could not honor their guarantee due to COVID 19 restrictions. After many unsuccessful calls to resolve this issue, I finally just purchased a second mattress in the soft version and I was told in the future when the COVID restrictions were lifted, they would pick up the original mattress and then at that time, refund my money for the first mattress. In an attempt to try and get my money refunded,when the second mattress arrived, I used that packaging and wrapped up the original mattress and called them to pick up the original mattress since I boxed it up and had it ready for pick up, they could simply do a door pick up as they did a door delivery. Again, I was told they would not pick up the original mattress nor refund my money until COVID was over, whenever that will be in the future. So, I am now out the money for two mattresses for an indefinite period of time. This all started in July, the country was well into the COVID 19 situation, I was never told nor is it indicated anywhere on their website (even to this day) that they will not honor their 90 day try out guarantee, I understand if they don't want to take the mattress back, but why should the customer be out the money? This is a gross misrepresentation of their guarantee. Buyer beware, you will be stuck with your purchase even though they are misrepresenting this on their website.”

“when i ordered this mattress a person at tempur- pedic tole me that this mattress was comparable to the rhapsody mattress i bought 12 years ago and it is not ,i since then went to a retailer that sells tempur-pedic mattresses and tried out the mattresses. The person at this furniture store told me that the pro-adapt firm was comparable to the rhapsody not the pro-adapt luxe firm. I was able to try out the mattresses and i ordered the pro-adapt firm. I am returning the pro-adapt luxe and i am getting the pro-adapt firm. If you need a firm mattress do not get the this one.”

Traded it in for a LuxeAdapt Soft, even shelling out over another $1,000 just hoping to get some good sleep. Similar to the first bed, this was much harder than the ones we tried at the store. It's been a couple months now and doesn't seem like it's gotten much softer. Will never purchase a Tempur-Pedic again.”

“Our 1st Tempurpedic was great and lasted over 13 years. When we replaced it with the upgraded mattress, it has failed us after 2 years! We have tolerated back and joint pains for the last 6 months, thinking it was us getting old. Finally we were able to sleep on a bed that supports us and pain goes away. Imagine that! We are not big people, but after 2 years it no longer delivers what we need. A warranty claim was declined saying it was "normal softening ". Sure doesn't make me feel good about paying multiple thousands of dollars and I am reminded of this purchase EVERY night. Don't count on this warranty protecting you beyond the day you open the delivery packaging.”

“The Tempur-LuxeAdapt firm feels great at first but after about an hour my body starts to hurt because it's so hard. I really wish we would have gone with a softer model but it's too late. I really wish there was a way to exchange it but we lost track of time trying to give it a fair trial and went two days beyond the 30 day trial window before we decided we would like to exchange it. “Let me start by saying we tried multiple different mattresses, brands and stores before we decided and made a purchase. We knew we wanted the best and what would work most for our family. Before this mattress I woke up so many times a night! My husband would toss and it felt like he was jumping on the bed, he would snore right in my ear and he has a weird twitching happen that jolted me awake at all hours! Almost nightly my husband started out sleeping on the couch or ended up there after I kicked him out in the middle of the night. We were constantly tired waking up for work. I'm pregnant and waking up so much was really taking a toll. No sleep made me so mean! The first 2-3 nights I felt a movement difference, but still a lot of snoring and waking up. We went on vacation and came back and boy were we relieved getting in this bed! It took a few days for the bed to "soften" and not quite be as firm as brand new. We moved from a queen to a king as well and waited for this purchase to do so. After a few nights I noticed I wasn't waking up as much. My husband also wasn't snoring as much. Since we returned from vacation I can say my husband hasn't ended up on the couch for even one night! That alone is a miracle. I've even slept through the night and not been woken when my husband wakes up and gets out of bed for work. I sleep right through everything! My husband doesn't wake up in the mornings with his side covered in sweat either! The mattress does seem to make sleep cooler and not as hot. My husband no longer snores except every now and then and I can only think it's because he was sleeping so uncomfortable for so long his body was adjusting. We go to sleep now without dreading the morning and being mad the second we turn out the lights! Best purchase ever! I can't think of a single thing I don't like about the mattress. If I had to pick it would be the protector. I thought it would be less "plastic-y" on top and more like a sheet. Once we put the sheets on it didn't seem to make a difference though. I'd highly recommend this mattress!”

The TEMPUR-LuxeAdapt is FIRM and provides great support yet it also molds to my body to prevent pressure points. I am fairly active so have sore muscles from my workouts. With this mattress I don't not feel those sore muscles like I used to on my old mattress. The Memory Foam fits like a glove and adjusts seamlessly as I turn from back to side sleeping. “We purchased a TEMPUR-Pedic LuxeAdapt Firm mattress in April 2025. I must say almost immediately we both started sleeping better. No more tossing and turning. No more body aches in the morning. If one of us gets up there is no movement to wake the other person up. We had a Tempur-pedic years ago and it was great. We brought a different memory foam mattress due to financial reasons. It wasn’t bad early on but eventually wasn’t comfortable for either of us anymore. The new Tempur-pedic was a night and day difference! We are so glad we went back to a Tempur-pedic mattress. We sleep much better and don’t ache in the morning like we used to. Try a Tempur-pedic mattress you’ll be glad you did! ”

“I bought the LuxeAdapt Firm to replace my previous discontinued Tempur-Pedic mattress, the Grande, which I had had for 16 years and with which I was very happy. I was told the Firm would be the closest match, but it is much less "plush" on top and way too hard for me. Even after "breaking it in" for several weeks it's still too uncomfortable. I want to exchange it, but customer service is not exactly spry on that topic....”

I was beginning to have back pain and hip pain- likely because our old mattress had long past it's prime- and noticed an immediate difference once we got the Luxe Adapt. We also bought the ergo power base, which also fit inside our wooden bed frame with no issues at all. Very long break in time, great motion isolation

“I had no idea it would take so long to break in. I found out that it can take several weeks after purchasing the mattress, which I've had for a month now. I got the Soft, and it's still hard but less than when I first got it. I hope it gets better. As of now, it's still not very comfortable, especially when I lie on my side. That being said, the motion isolation is unparalleled. While I toss and turn because of how hard the mattress still is, my dog sleeps well. With my old mattress, I used to constantly wake him with my tossing and turning. He would get upset with me and sleep elsewhere when it got bad. With this mattress, he sleeps through the night, unperturbed by my pain and restlessness. I highly recommend the tempur-adapt to anyone with a pet who is a light sleeper. ”
